  • Patent number: 12173913
Abstract: A system including a processor and sensor for installation inside an underground vault. The sensor monitors a parameter inside the vault and sends a monitoring signal to the processor. Based on the monitoring signal, the processor may provide data to a memory for storage and/or control signals to an interface for transmission to an external device located within the vault. The control signals instruct the external device to modify the environment inside the vault. The sensor may be positioned inside an enclosure, which is inside a housing. An air moving device moves air into or out of the enclosure thereby drawing air from the vault into the enclosure before the sensor monitors the parameter. A heat generating component may be positioned inside the housing and when generating heat prevents moisture from condensing therein. The system may include a power unit that draws power from a power source inside the vault.

  • Patent number: 11766180
Abstract: Disclosed is the measurement, identification, knowledge inference and notification alerting of fevers within individuals. Embodiments according to the present disclosure include a system for measuring at least two body temperatures. The first temperature is measured from a body region that correlates with deep body temperature; the second is measured from body regions capable of subcutaneous/deep tissue vasoconstriction. Temperatures of the first region are automatically compared to cutoff thresholds, and differences between the first and second regions are automatically compared to temperature difference thresholds. This apparatus automatically evaluates if none, one, or both thresholds have been exceeded. If none or one, then a subject can be identified as normal (afebrile). If both thresholds are exceeded a screening or test subject identified as febrile, where actions can be taken to isolate individuals to prevent spreading of communicable diseases.

  • Patent number: 11060754
Abstract: A system for use with a manhole vault having an internal atmosphere, and, optionally, with a ventilation stack connecting the vault to an external atmosphere. The system includes a manhole cover, a ventilation pipe, and an air moving assembly. The cover has one or more through-holes extending between top and bottom surfaces. Each of the through-hole(s) is in fluid communication with the external atmosphere at the top surface. The pipe has a through-channel that extends between first and second openings. The first opening is positioned proximal to either an opening into the ventilation stack or at least one of the through-hole(s) at the bottom surface of the cover. The second opening is positioned in the interior of the vault. The device is configured to cause a portion of one of the interior and external atmospheres to flow through the through-channel toward a different one of the interior and external atmospheres.

  • Patent number: 10429098
Abstract: A temperature controller for a heater for a container for use in hazardous areas and a method of programming such a temperature controller. The method of programming such a temperature controller comprises the steps of writing identification data and parameter data to a memory of a portable token in an area remote from the hazardous area; transporting the token to a position in proximity to the temperature controller in the hazardous area; transmitting, by means of near field communication, the identification data and parameter data stored in the memory of the portable token to a receiver in the temperature controller; comparing the identification data received by the temperature controller with identification data stored in a memory of the temperature controller; and if said comparison of identification data is positive, and updating parameter data stored in the memory of the temperature controller with the parameter data received by the receiver.
