  • Patent number: 8464972
Abstract: A concrete pulverizer adapted for mounting on an arm of an excavator including a lower jaw having a first pivot pin mechanism and a crushing surface. The crushing surface on this jaw is formed with concrete waste apertures. An upper jaw has a rear end section connectible to an end of the arm and has crushing teeth mounted on a lower side. This jaw is pivotably connected to the lower jaw by the pivot pin mechanism. The upper jaw is pivotably connected to a hydraulic cylinder actuator on the arm and can be pivoted between an upper position and a crushing closed position. There is a power mechanism for pivoting the lower jaw between a horizontal scooping position and a dumping position and this mechanism can hold the lower jaw in a crushing position while the upper jaw is being pivoted by the hydraulic cylinder actuator.

  • Patent number: 8007197
Abstract: A coupler device for releasably connecting a boom arm to a tool such as a bucket including a coupling frame adapted for connection to the boom and having wedge members on opposite sides thereof, these members being provided to engage in channels formed by connecting members on the tool. A fluid actuated holding mechanism is provided to secure the wedge members in the channels, this mechanism including a holder pivotably mounted on the frame and a fluid actuator connected to the holder at one end and to the frame at an opposite end. The coupler device includes a locking pin mechanism for locking the wedge members in the channels, this mechanism including at least one locking pin movably mounted in the frame for movement between a locked position and an unlocked position and, optionally, a linear fluid actuator mounted on the frame and having a hydraulic cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20060000124
Abstract: An impact tool is provided for applying impact energy to a material, the impact tool comprising a fork portion having a first tine, a second tine, and a base portion; an exciter component at one end of the first tine, configured to excite the first tine to resonate at a given frequency, the second tine configured to resonate sympathetically with the first tine; and a striking surface on one or both tines, the striking surface configured to contact the material so as to apply impact energy to the material. A method for applying impact energy to a material is provided, the method comprising raising the tines away from the material; actuating the exciter component to cause the tines to resonate at a given frequency; and positioning one of tines to strike the material so as to apply impact energy to the material.

  • Patent number: 6129298
Abstract: A construction vehicle attachment in the form of a pulverizer-ripper unit that includes a pair of jaws confronting and closing on one another and an independent ripper-shank that has a replaceable ripper-tooth. Each jaw includes teeth that serve to engage and fracture concrete slabs. The pulverizer-ripper unit operates under power of any one or a combination of hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, or mechanical powers. The teeth on each jaw are alternated at differing lengths and sizes. The ripper-shank is an elongated finger-like projection pivotably mounted on one of the jaws. The ripper-shank is significantly longer than either jaw and has a range of arcuate motion from a parked-position to a fully-deployed-position with at least two intermediate positions therebetween. The ripper-shank can be locked into such an intermediate position and allows an operator to initially rip up or pry up surfaces, sort and properly orient large chunks, and then subsequently pulverize the chunks with the jaws.
