  • Patent number: 11852713
Abstract: Provided are a system and method for coordinating dual wireless communications protocols when implementing a time difference of arrival framework for ranging between nodes. A first of the protocols (e.g., BLE) can be used to initiate synchronization and measurement staging, while ensuing calculations according to such synchronization and measurement can be conducted according a second of the protocols (e.g., UWB). In these regards, transitioning between the aforementioned protocols can result in a conservation of air time involved in an entirety of TDOA processes, and thus a conservation of energy.

  • Publication number: 20230412592
Abstract: In various exemplary embodiments, a security continuity system allows users to continue accessing certain user accounts (e.g., email, calendar, contacts, documents, instant messaging, cloud storage, etc.) through alternate logon identity credentials that are automatically provisioned such as when a security event is detected or suspected. The alternate logon identity credentials may be temporary (e.g., just used during security continuity until the original user logon identity credentials can be secured such as by establishing a new password or by having the user select a new logon identity) or permanent (e.g., the alternate logon identity can become the user's new logon identity). Security continuity may be invoked manually (e.g., by the user or by an administrator) or automatically when certain conditions are detected (e.g., through detection of suspicious activities such as repeated user lockouts due to multiple failed logon attempts or upon detection of a successful breach by an attacker).

  • Publication number: 20230349407
Abstract: Described is a combination fastener for attaching an object to a stud extending from or an opening formed in a component. The combination fastener includes a carrier portion to retain the object and a fastener portion. The fastener portion includes a body sidewall that defines a central longitudinal axis and a hollow space configured to receive the stud. A plurality of stud-retention features are resiliently coupled to an interior surface of the body sidewall to retain the stud within the hollow space. Each of the plurality of stud-retention features are angled toward the central longitudinal axis to deflect outward from the central longitudinal axis as the stud passes through the hollow space. A plurality of panel-retention features resiliently coupled to an exterior surface of the body sidewall to retain the combination fastener within the opening.

  • Publication number: 20230330937
Abstract: A method of cleaning residual resin from an additively manufactured object, the method including: producing by additive manufacturing at least one object on at least one carrier platform, each object including a light polymerized resin with a surface coating of viscous, unpolymerized residual resin; operatively connecting each object to a rotor; separating the residual resin from each object; and removing the at least one object from the rotor with the residual resin separated therefrom. The separating step may include: centrifugally separating the residual resin from each object by spinning the rotor with the at least object operatively connected thereto; and rotating (or tilting) each object about at least one axis during the spinning to enhance the centrifugally separating the residual resin from each object.

  • Patent number: 11787746
Abstract: Some variations provide a pre-ceramic matrix composite comprising: a precursor pre-ceramic matrix; reinforcing elements disposed within the precursor pre-ceramic matrix; and a compressible material disposed on the surface of the reinforcing elements and interposed between the reinforcing elements and the precursor pre-ceramic matrix. Other variations provide a ceramic matrix composite comprising: a ceramic matrix; reinforcing elements disposed within the ceramic matrix; and a compressed material disposed on the surface of the reinforcing elements and interposed between the reinforcing elements and the matrix. The coating of compressible material prevents cracking during processing because the coating absorbs stresses associated with volumetric shrinkage of the ceramic matrix during densification, thereby reducing the stresses at the interface between the reinforcing elements and the ceramic matrix. Methods of fabricating ceramic matrix composites using the principles of the invention are disclosed.
