  • Patent number: 11100121
Abstract: A method for electronically mining intellectual property using an associative discovery process may include determining a set of documents containing keywords and/or phrases associated with an industry trend of interest. The method may also include determining a feedback score for each document in the set, determining an optimal weighing scheme for the determined keywords and/or phrases using a statistical learning model and the feedback scores, ranking all documents in the set of documents according to the optimal weighing scheme, and providing results of the associative discovery process to a user.

  • Patent number: 10832225
Abstract: A method and system may automatically detect failures and send diagnostic information when scheduling home equipment repairs in a smart home environment. A smart home controller may receive sensor data from each of several pieces of smart home equipment to detect whether any failures have occurred. If the smart home controller detects a failure in one of the pieces of smart home equipment based on the sensor data, the smart home controller may communicate diagnostic information for the piece of smart home equipment experiencing the failure to a repair service provider to schedule a repair. The diagnostic information may include sensor data for the piece of smart home equipment, and data indicative of normal operation for the piece of smart home equipment. The smart home controller may transmit a notification to the repair service provider including step-by-step instructions for performing the repair of the piece of smart home equipment.

  • Patent number: 10824971
Abstract: A method and system may automatically detect failures and schedule repairs for home equipment in a smart home environment when the property owner is away from the property. A smart home controller may receive sensor data from each of several pieces of smart home equipment to detect whether any failures have occurred. If the smart home controller detects a failure in one of the pieces of smart home equipment based on the sensor data, the smart home controller may determine that a first piece of smart home equipment needs to be repaired based on a collective analysis of first and second sets of sensor data from the first piece of smart home equipment and a second piece of smart home equipment, respectively. Then the smart home controller may provide a control signal to the first piece of smart home equipment to shut down or limit operation.

  • Patent number: 10445331
Abstract: A method for electronically mining intellectual property using an associative discovery process may include determining a set of documents containing keywords and/or phrases associated with an industry trend of interest and, for each document, assigning a weight. The method may also include selecting a subset of the documents based at least upon the assigned weights, and determining a feedback score for each document in the subset. The method may further include determining an optimal weighing scheme for the determined keywords and/or phrases using a statistical learning model and the feedback scores, ranking all documents in the set of documents according to the optimal weighing scheme, and providing results of the associative discovery process to a user.

  • Patent number: 10217068
Abstract: A method and system may automatically detect failures and pre-schedule repairs for home equipment in a smart home environment when the property owner is away from the property. A smart home controller may receive sensor data from each of several pieces of home equipment to detect whether any failures have occurred. If the smart home controller detects a failure in one of the pieces of home equipment based on the sensor data, the smart home controller may communicate with a repair service provider to pre-schedule a repair of the piece of home equipment which experiences the failure. The repair service provider may then transmit a pre-scheduled time and cost for performing the repair and may perform the repair at the scheduled time.

  • Patent number: 10112222
Abstract: A method and system resolves failures in a submersible pump. The method and system may receive data from one or more sensors associated with the submersible pump. The method and system may analyze the received data to detect a failure in the submersible pump. The failure may be due to a build-up of debris or particulates that has caused the submersible pump to stall or jam. To resolve the detected failure, the method and system may activate a mechanical shaker coupled to the submersible pump that produces vibrations to physically shake the submersible pump.

  • Patent number: 9910899
Abstract: A data analysis method and computer system electronically mines potential intellectual property related to enterprise business needs. The method and system may utilize various text mining techniques to perform associative discovery, where existing enterprise documents or data are harvested and correlated with the latest industry trends in order to inspire new insights and stimulate the discovery of new or potential intellectual property. In one aspect, an area of interest may be identified. After which, identifiers associated with the area of interest, e.g., keywords and/or linking terms, may be determined. An enterprise database may be searched using the identifiers. The documents flagged by the search may be ranked with respect to their relevance to the area of interest based upon which and/or how many identifiers are contained within each respective document. The identification of highly relevant documents associated with an area of interest may lead to discovery of intellectual property.
