  • Publication number: 20140262219
Abstract: A system for recovering hydrocarbons from a subterranean formation includes an upper tunnel extending through the formation. In addition, the system includes a lower tunnel extending through the formation below a portion of the upper tunnel. Further, the system includes a plurality of conduits extending from the upper tunnel through the formation to the lower tunnel. Still further, the system includes a plurality of wellbores extending from the lower tunnel into a hydrocarbon-bearing portion of the formation.

  • Patent number: 8720559
Abstract: A cementing assembly is mounted to a lower end of a running string. The running string has an obstruction in it such as a cable preventing a wiper dart from passing through. A production string liner wiper plug is secured to the running tool with a shear pin or other device. A dart is temporarily suspended above the liner wiper plug in a manner that cement can be pumped around the dart and through an open bore in the wiper plug. Picking up to let dogs extend followed by setting down releases the dart. Picking up again exposes a lateral port to circulate out contaminated cement. Setting down closes the port and pressure launches the plug to push the cement into the annulus surrounding the string being run in. A passage without restrictions results at the top of the cemented string after the running tool is pulled out of the hole.

  • Patent number: 8307898
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for cementing a liner in place in an open borehole using a tubular member having at least one obstruction in the tubular member to pass the cement into the liner and through the liner into an annular space surrounding the liner to position the liner in the open borehole.

  • Publication number: 20080271924
Abstract: Apparatus for drilling a borehole from a first subterranean location to a second subterranean location, comprises a casing (4) extending longitudinally inside a borehole, a conduit (6) extending longitudinally inside casing (4), and capable of being in sealing relationship therewith, at least one entry line (23,24) for liquid into the apparatus, a first annulus (22) between the casing (4) and conduit (6), at least one entry for liquid in the conduit, a tubing (14) having a first end and a second end (16), a remote controlled electrically powered drilling device (12) and remote controlled electrically powered pump, the device and pump being capable of being in fluid contact with the first end of the tubing (14), the second end (16) of the tubing (14) being inside the conduit (6) at a location more remote from the drilling device (12) than the entry for liquid in the conduit (6), with the conduit (6), tubing (14) and first end and second end (16) of the tubing (14) being adapted to provide routes for liquid con

  • Patent number: 5988278
Abstract: A method for increasing the recovery of oil from a subterranean formation having at least one producer wellbore drilled therein, whereby a generally horizontal and generally circular wellbore is drilled so that oil is located between the generally horizontal and generally circular wellbore and the at least one producer wellbore. Fluid is injected through the generally horizontal and generally circular wellbore into the formation so that oil is swept to the at least one producer wellbore for recovery through the at least one producer wellbore.
