Patent number: 8328175Abstract: A frame (1) for receiving and holding a removable board (2) for use in the manufacture of edible products such as bread and the like. The frame (1) comprises a plurality of side walls (100, 101, 102, 103) and reinforcing cross-members (104, 105, 106) so that a board (2) which is adapted to be retained within the frame (1) is protected from damage and wear during transportation along mechanized conveyors in the bread making process. The board (2) is provided with a lip which extends around its perimeter and projects laterally beyond the side walls of the frame to enable removal of the board from the frame. The board (2) further comprises a textured upper surface which helps to prevent dough from sticking and facilitates the eventual removal of the dough from the board.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2006Date of Patent: December 11, 2012Assignee: Lifestyle FoodsInventor: Mark O'Shea

Patent number: 8099826Abstract: A powdery material removal and recovery system comprises a distribution apparatus (1), a blower unit (2), a vacuum unit (3), a recovered powder receiving hopper (4), a powder sifter (5) and a conveyor (6). The vacuum unit (3) sucks material particles from the surface of boards passing along conveyor (6) below and transfers the material to receiving hopper (4). Air from the blower unit (2) is expelled through a pressure chamber of the distribution apparatus (1) onto the surface of the boards below so that any remaining remnants of particles are dried and dislodged and can then be removed via the outer duct compartments (108, 110). Recovered material deposited into the receiving hopper (4) may then be transferred to the powder sifter (5) for sifting and reuse.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2006Date of Patent: January 24, 2012Assignee: Lifestyle FoodsInventor: Mark O'Shea

Patent number: 7932079Abstract: A system (1) for producing a dough starter culture is provided which comprises a plurality of reservoirs (15) pre-loaded with a small amount (“mother level”) of a previously obtained starter culture. Into the reservoirs (15) are inoculated the other ingredients required for the preparation of starter culture and the contents are left to ferment for a specified period of time to produce the required starter culture, which is then discharged as required from each reservoir (15). A “mother level” portion is retained in the reservoirs and is used to produce a next batch of starter culture.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2006Date of Patent: April 26, 2011Assignee: Lifestyle Foods LimitedInventor: Mark O'Shea

Publication number: 20090114103Abstract: A collecting device (1) for catching crumbs which fall through constructional gaps in the conveyor belt (4) of an oven (2) during baking. The device (1) has an elongated upper plate (10) having a plurality of through perforations (10a) which is mounted beneath the top flight (4a) of the conveyor and extends across the width of the belt (4). A directing panel (7) is attached to each longitudinal edge (10b) of the upper plate (10) perpendicular to the plate (10). The crumbs which fall through the conveyor belt (4) are first received in the perforations (10a) in the upper plate (10) and then directed by the panels (7) into a removable container (5) beneath the lower edges (7b) of the panels. In an oven (2) which has a metal sheet (20) installed beneath the top flight (4a) of the conveyor belt (4) parallel to the belt, the upper plate (10) is installed by firstly excising a similarly sized portion of material from the metal sheet (10) and then substituting the excised portion with the upper plate (10).Type: ApplicationFiled: May 8, 2006Publication date: May 7, 2009Applicant: LIFESTYLE FOODS LIMITEDInventor: Mark O'Shea
