  • Patent number: 5918743
Abstract: A reusable plastic container and a method of cleaning and sterilizing the same is described. The plastic container can be collapsed for transportation and sterilization when not in use. The container includes structural end frames which are made from the same material from which the remainder of the container is made. A band can be used when it is in its erected position to hold the same in such position. When collapsed, a container is flat and all parts of the same are exposed for easy washing and sterilization.

  • Patent number: 5865315
Abstract: A material transport system is described made up of a pallet and a container. Both the pallet and the container are reusable, with the container being collapsible for shipping. A plurality of the containers are furnished in their collapsed form to a material handler, along with pallets for use with such containers when they are erected. Lids for the erected containers are also provided to the material handler. When the containers are provided to the material handler in their collapsed condition along with lids, they are provided on a specialized pallet. All aspects of the material transport system are made from a plastic and can be recycled at the end of their useful life.

  • Patent number: 5836255
Abstract: Three embodiments of a plastic pallet and accompanying top frames are described. The parts of the pallets and top frames are formed from extruded stock, and many of such parts are made from the same or similar stock. In its basic aspects, all embodiments of the pallet include top and bottom sections which are spaced from one another by spacer blocks which are formed from a common piece of plastic stock. Most desirably, each of these spacer blocks is generally hollow with strengthening webbing but is oriented relative to the top and bottom decks so that the latter close those opposed ends at which the hollow interior and webbing otherwise would be exposed. The design is such that exposed ends of other parts of the pallet are similarly closed by other parts.

  • Patent number: 5275302
Abstract: A plastic container and pallet system especially designed for crating and transporting food stuffs is described. One embodiment of the container includes a removably attached portion of a side wall and structure for securing the same to the remainder of the container.

  • Patent number: 5246128
Abstract: The plastic container and pallet system includes stackable plastic containers which interlock one with the other when stacked and which similarly interlock with the pallet when stacked thereon. Each container includes a pair of molded end wall structures which incorporate stacking tabs along their upper edge and stacking recesses along their lower edge. Thus, when one container is stacked upon another, the recess on the bottom edge of the upper container mates with the stacking tab on the lower container. Similarly, the pallet is provided with mounting tabs at selected intervals to mate with the stacking recesses on the bottom of each container. Each stacking tab along the top edge of the molded end wall structure of the containers includes a belt notch which is aligned with the belt notch beneath each base runner of the pallet when the containers are stacked on the pallet.

  • Patent number: 4418580
Abstract: A disposable tip and piston assembly for a pipettor mechanism includes a hollow tip member adapted to be detachably connected on the distal end of the pipettor mechanism, and a piston member slidably disposed within the tip. The pipettor mechanism includes a plunger rod adapted to detachably engage the piston, and an ejector mechanism which permits rapid removal of the tip and piston assembly without the user contacting the assembly. The piston member is adapted to directly contact the substance being pipetted, for high accuracy in pipetting. The ejector mechanism and the detachable connection of the tip and piston assembly to the pipettor mechanism insulates the pipettor mechanism and its operator from contamination by the substance being pipetted.

  • Patent number: 3987924
Abstract: A plastic container includes a pair of molded plastic end wall structures affixed to opposite end edges of an intervening wall structure having generally parallel tubular reinforcing rib portions formed as by extrusion. A plurality of prongs project outwardly of the end wall structures in registration with the open ends of the tubular reinforcing ribs for affixing the end wall structures to the intervening wall structure. In one embodiment, thermally insulative plastic foam is affixed to the end, side walls and lid of the box to provide a thermally insulated container. A lug box, a lettuce box, an insulated flower box, and a strawberry box are specifically shown.
