    Abstract: An apparatus for the attenuating of electromagnetic radiation is provided herein and comprises a layered support substrate, wherein said support substrate comprises at least one of the following electromagnetic radiation attenuating layers: an electrically conductive fabric; a microwave absorbing layer; or a magnetic shielding layer. The support substrate further comprises a surrounding material which envelops the entirety of the electromagnetic radiation attenuating layers. The support substrate is formed to include a forward electromagnetic radiation attenuating surface and is intended for use with laptop computers.
