Abstract: A method is described for removing and replacing an antisoiling coating on an article that includes an optical substrate, an antireflective coating, and a previously applied, silicon containing, antisoiling coating. The article is treated in a plasma to remove the previously applied antisoiling coating. A new antisoiling coating is applied that includes a fluorinated siloxane.
