Abstract: Disclosed are devices, kits and systems for enhancing distance determination of an object from a point of reference within a terrain. One or more devices are provided which are visually distinct in appearance. The devices are placed within a terrain such that devices of a similar visual appearance are at a first distance from the point of reference, objects of a similar appearance different than the first set of objects are placed at a second distance from the point of reference, and so on. The use of one or more devices representing one or more distances from a point of reference can be used to determine a position of one or more items within the terrain based on its position relative to the devices.
