Abstract: The present invention provides methods for depleting a biological sample from a patient of a humanized or chimeric monoclonal antibody prior to cross-matching the sample for transplantation. The method comprises treating the sample with a peptide or other moiety that selectively binds to the antibody, forming a peptide-antibody complex and removing the complex from the serum sample. These steps may be repeated as many times as needed to reduce the humanized or chimeric monoclonal antibody to the desired level.
