  • Patent number: 6948095
Abstract: A host computer has a file with a subroutine required for operation of an application on a target. The file is dynamically loaded to memory of the target, whereby the file has an entry point at a dynamically-determined location. Data representative of the address of the entry point is stored in memory at a predetermined location. The application is then run on the target, causing the application to determine the entry point, thereby accessing the subroutine and allowing the subroutine to run.

  • Patent number: 6915198
Abstract: Rapidly changing torque demand is coordinated in an automotive vehicle having an engine and at least one motor. An engine base torque level indicating slowly changing torque produced by the engine is received. A motor torque is determined as a difference between a fast desired torque and the engine base torque level. An engine fast torque is determined as a difference between the request for fast desired torque and the motor torque. The motor torque is determined as a motor torque request and the engine fast torque is determined as an engine torque request.

  • Patent number: 6834357
Abstract: An application program runs on an embedded processor connected via a link to a host. When the application program identifies a need for communication over said link, it reads a pointer location to see whether its contents represent a valid address in memory, and if so the program calls that address. It then checks the code at the address to see whether an entry point is stored there, and if so uses that entry point to access a subroutine enabling communication over the link.

  • Patent number: 6789211
Abstract: To enable a processor connected to a host computer to run programs that are dynamically loaded by the host, a stack is loaded into its memory, and the location of the stack, or information enabling that location to be found are stored in a memory location reserved as a vector. The programs are then dynamically loaded into said memory; and a set location in the stack is used to store the entry point into the dynamically loaded file.

  • Patent number: 6738927
Abstract: A register of a processor is set to one value when a host is connected to the processor and to a second value when no host is connected. The processor then starts execution after reading the register contents, and if it finds that the second value is stored it writes a set value to a pointer storage location. When the one value is stored, it leaves the content of the pointer location unaffected.

  • Patent number: 6589925
Abstract: A detergent tablet in order to be readily dispensed from the detergent dispenser of an automatic dishwasher should be of a generally elliptical shape to a modified generally elliptical shape. This is a shape where a cylinder having a rectangular cross-section contained within the tablet shape has a diagonal dimension that is a minimum for such a shape. This is a diagonal of a cross-section along the minor axis of the tablet. This shape can be defined by the equation: ( x a ) p + ( y b ) p = 1 where 2a is the length of the major axis, 2b is the length of the minor axis, and p in an exponent having a value of between about 1.5 to about 25 extending to a shape where the sides disposed along the major axis are parallel and the sides defined by the minor axis have a defined radius.

  • Patent number: 6583599
Abstract: A starter/alternator system (24) for hybrid electric vehicle (10) having an internal combustion engine (12) and an energy storage device (34) has a controller (30) coupled to the starter/alternator (26). The controller (30) has a state of charge manager (40) that monitors the state of charge of the energy storage device. The controller has eight battery state-of-charge threshold values that determine the hybrid operating mode of the hybrid electric vehicle. The value of the battery state-of-charge relative to the threshold values is a factor in the determination of the hybrid mode, for example; regenerative braking, charging, battery bleed, boost. The starter/alternator may be operated as a generator or a motor, depending upon the mode.
