  • Publication number: 20230293255
Abstract: A system for packaging a kit for a radiofrequency ablation procedure protects a radiofrequency ablation kit without compromising its sterile barrier system through the hazards of handling, distribution, and storage. The system includes: an introducer tray configured to hold at least one introducer; a probe tray configured to hold at least one radiofrequency ablation probe; an outer carrier tray, a pouch configured to hold a tubing kit; and a dispenser carton. The introducer tray and the probe tray are held within the outer carrier tray, and the outer carrier tray and the pouch are configured to be held within the dispenser carton. A method of packaging a radiofrequency ablation kit is further described.

  • Patent number: 11091281
Abstract: A product and method for reducing tensile strength loss associated with sterilization of the product by ionizing radiation sterilization methods is provided. The method includes providing a package that includes a layer having an oxygen transmission rate equal to or less than about 10 cubic centimeters of oxygen per 100 inches squared per 24 hours; providing a product in the package's interior; applying a vacuum to the exterior of the package in a controlled atmosphere until a vacuum pressure equal to or less than about 250 millibars is achieved; flushing the interior of the package with an inert gas until an inert gas flush pressure equal to or less than about 750 millibars is achieved; sealing the package; releasing the vacuum applied in the controlled atmosphere; and sterilizing the package/product with radiation. The resulting product has a reduction in its tensile strength of less than about 18.5% after sterilization.

  • Publication number: 20080073349
Abstract: A package or container that includes a frame that defines an access aperture and an opening mechanism associated with a pliable sheet, which forms at least part of a cover for the access aperture. The opening mechanism includes a set of spaced-apart tabs that slideably engages with opposing edges or flanges of the frame. As a user moves the opening mechanism along the frame, the opening mechanism draws the pliable sheet over upon itself, and displaces the sheet relative to the aperture to either open or close the package.

  • Publication number: 20070284387
Abstract: A multi-product dispenser is disclosed. The dispenser unit has a body or housing that includes a number of chambers adapted to receive and accommodate a number of individual product containers. Each of the chambers in the housing has an opening that is distinctly configured relative to another opening adapted to dispense each kind of product that is to be dispensed from the housing. The container may have a movable panel or false bottom and an opening situated opposite the movable panel, and the housing may have a spring-like, tension-based member adapted to contact or engage with the movable panel that advances the movable panel toward the opening of both the container and housing. The invention also discloses a method for informing a user about a proper sequence or protocol for using protective products.
