  • Patent number: 6118301
Abstract: An input/output driver circuit which provides a buffer interface between a functional digital circuit and a common bus for other digital circuits achieves high levels of voltage tolerance and compliance, while requiring only two power supply pins, by using two PMOS switching transistors between the circuit's output line and an output power supply terminal, rather than only one. To turn the transistors OFF, the output power supply voltage is applied to the gate of one of them and the output line voltage to the gate of the other. This assures that at least one of the transistors is fully OFF when desired, whether or not the output line voltage exceeds the output power supply level.

  • Patent number: 5967147
Abstract: A valved stem apparatus for use on a water pipe used for smoking. The valved stem is formed as an elongated hollow stem provided with a first open end, sized for mechanically interfacing with a pipe bowl assembly component of the water pipe, and with a second open end for being disposed within a liquid container member of the water pipe. The second open end is provided with a retaining structure that extends from the stem structure that delineates an opening at the second open end. A valve member, such as a ball valve, is disposed within the retaining structure such that it can freely travel within the retaining structure towards the opening portion of the second open end upon being submerged in a liquid. The opening portion is formed with a smooth beveled rim surface that conforms to the shape of the outer surface of the buoyant body to effect closure of the opening in a water-tight manner when not being forced open by a person drawing smoke from the mouthpiece.

  • Patent number: 5556579
Abstract: A cover for containers, especially glass jars, that are used to store and keep fresh consumable merchandise, such as tobacco, coffee, or tea. The cover includes structure for receiving a cover mount member that facilitates attachment of a mechanical interface structure that carries and supports a humidity control member in a manner that further facilitates gravitational capillary action of the water in the humidistat. In kit form, a cover mount member is provided with structure that facilitates attachment to a container's cover member and also with mounting structure for fitting a mechanical interface, such as a grommet, that receives the inlet end of a humidistat. The cover mount member and humidity control member are detachable from the cover member for filling the humidity control member with water. The humidity control valve at the distal end of the humidity control member is adjustable for delivering the desired humidity according to the dryness of the product contained in the container.

  • Patent number: 5489043
Abstract: A cylindrical weighted base member for water pipe smoking devices. The weighted base structure is adapted to accommodate an insert member which is designed to detachably retain a tubular vessel member of a pipe smoking device. The insert member is surrounded by a weighted mass, such as cement or similar heavy substance. The insert member facilitates removal of the vessel member to allow the user to better access the lower interior of the tubular vessel member for cleaning purposes. The insert member includes a bottom portion which retains a flexible cup that also provides the primary structure for removably retaining the tubular vessel member. A variation of the weighted base member provides structure that is formed into a storage compartment for storing articles such as a smoking substance.

  • Patent number: 5400807
Abstract: A liquid pipe smoking apparatus having impact collars formed to be carried by the body of the base member, and or, the vessel body of the apparatus. The impact collars are detachable and are intended to absorb shock encountered by the apparatus during use to avoid fracture of the vessel body, and or to avoid tipping of the pipe apparatus. The cylindrical base member is also modified such that the underside portion provides a storage compartment covered with a threaded or friction retained bottom cap member. Various embodiments may be configured utilizing the impact collars and the modified base structure.

  • Patent number: 5215719
Abstract: An incense burner consisting of an upright cylindrical tube supported on a base and having a vent opening located in relatively closer proximity to the base than to an upper opening of the tube. A spring clip is provided to hold an incense stick in an inverted position within the cylindrical tube and above the vent opening to facilitate combustion of the incense.
