  • Publication number: 20150079132
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to compositions that combine the polysaccharide-specific antibody protection afforded by the conventional vaccines through carrier effects provided by one or more pneumococcal common T-cell antigen(s) together with Streptococcus pneumoniae-specific Th-17 responses elicited by the pneumococcal carrier common T-cell antigen. The disclosed compositions are useful for pan-serotypic protection against NP carriage, and antibody responses against common pneumococcal virulence factors, potentially useful for pan-serotype protection against Streptococcus pneumoniae invasive diseases.

  • Publication number: 20150057668
Abstract: A joint distraction device for use in an arthroscopic surgery is provided. The device has a joint distraction mechanism, situated in between two bone fixation surfaces, and is capable of changing the relative distance between these two surfaces. The force generated by the mechanism should be sufficient to insert bone spikes affixed to the surfaces into bone, as well as distract the joint to create a sufficient enough gap to allow the intended procedure. With the surfaces and spikes engaged to bone at opposite sites of a joint, an increase in distraction force results in an increase in the relative distance results, hence increasing the space within the joint. Embodiments of this invention, compared to fracture table approaches, effectively eliminate the risk of pudendal nerve injury, allow for longer surgical times, and allow for much more controllable joint distraction.

  • Publication number: 20140372170
Abstract: A method is provided for quantification and mapping of cultural characteristics. Using an analytic engine, cultural attribute information is collected and organized by assigning binary scores to cultural tendencies. Using a cultural score engine coupled to the analytic engine, cultural attribute data is scored for each cultural attribute category to create scored data. Scored data is mapped to a graphic output using a map engine. Quantification of areas, organization priorities, or cultural tendencies associated with each graphic output is performed with an assessment engine. Comparing multiple cultures or scenarios affecting cultural attributes is executed by a comparison engine that compares multiple cultural graphic outputs in a single comparison graphic output of cultural tendencies.

  • Publication number: 20140365406
Abstract: A system provides quantification and mapping of cultural characteristics. An analytic engine collects and organizes cultural attribute information by binary score and by cultural tendency. A cultural score engine coupled to the analytic engine receives cultural attribute information by category and scores the cultural attribute data for each cultural attribute to create scored data. A map engine receives the scored data and maps the cultural attribute data to a graphic output. An assessment engine quantifies areas, organization priorities, or cultural tendencies associated with each graphic output. A comparison engine compares a plurality of graphic outputs in a single comparison graphic output of cultural tendencies.

  • Publication number: 20140164265
Abstract: A system is provided that sends data to a safety compliance management system in response to an adverse event. The system receives a first event in response to a first interaction by a user, where the first event indicates that the adverse event is to be reported to the safety compliance management system. The system further receives a second event in response to a second interaction by the user, where the second event indicates that the adverse event is ready to be reported to the safety compliance management system. The system further collects data and sends the collected data to the safety compliance management system.

  • Publication number: 20140164015
Abstract: A system is provided that sends data changes to a safety compliance management system. The system defines at least one data field as a significant data field. The system further monitors data, and identifies a change to the data. The system further determines whether the change to the data includes a change to at least one significant data field. • Publication number: 20140108074
Abstract: A method is provided for qualifying and analyzing business intelligence. At a first part of a data management system receives first, second and third streams of data. The first stream is client provided source data, the second is public source data and the third is data management system internal data previously collected and managed source data in the data management system. The three streams of data are organized into items and their attributes at the data management system. The source data is transformed at a data warehouse where it becomes normalized. Logic is applied to provide multi-dimensional analysis of transformed source data relative to a scale for at least one business intelligence. The data warehouse includes updated data from the multi-dimensional analysis. A user interface communicates with the data management system to create statistical information that illustrates impact over time and value.

  • Patent number: 8652963
Abstract: An MOSFET device having a Silicide layer of uniform thickness, and methods for its fabrication, are provided. One such method involves depositing a metal layer over wide and narrow contact trenches on the surface of a silicon semiconductor substrate. Upon formation of a uniformly thin amorphous intermixed alloy layer at the metal/silicon interface, the excess (unreacted) metal is removed. The device is annealed to facilitate the formation of a thin silicide layer on the substrate surface which exhibits uniform thickness at the bottoms of both wide and narrow contact trenches.
