  • Patent number: 12210479
Abstract: Methods, devices and computer program products facilitate the storage, access and management of log files that are associated with particular client devices. The log files provide a record of user or client device activities that are periodically sent to a data backup center. A dedicated log file server facilitates the processing and storage of an increasingly large number of log files that are generated by new and existing client devices. A storage server pre-processes the received log files to facilitate the processing and storage of the log files by the log file server. This Abstract is provided for the sole purpose of complying with the Abstract requirement rules. This Abstract is submitted with the explicit understanding that it will not be used to interpret or to limit the scope or the meaning of the claims.

  • Patent number: 10692529
Abstract: Systems and methods for reading data are provided herein using a data archive architecture controlled by a head server. The head server can read data in a contiguous manner across multiple storage devices for data that has been partitioned into multiple portions and spread across the multiple storage devices. Portions of a first object can be transmitted and read from a first subset of storage devices and portions of a second object can be transmitted and read from a second subset of storage devices. The head server can increment a read pointer based on a length of the portions of the first object to a determine a read location of different portions of the first object or the second object. The head server can identify different read location to read sub sequent of different portions of multiple objects using one or more lengths of the objects or portions of the object.

Abstract: Systems and methods for storing data are provided herein using a data archive architecture controlled by a head server. The head server can write data in a contiguous manner across multiple storage devices by partitioning objects into multiple portions and spreading the portions across the multiple storage devices. Portions of a first object can be transmitted to a first subset of storage devices and portions of a second object can be transmitted to a second subset of storage devices. The first subset of storage devices can write the portions of the first object to a first write location indicated by a write pointer. • Patent number: 8386430
Abstract: A method of storing a file in memory so that the file can be recovered in the event of a memory failure is provided. A block of memory having a first predetermined memory size is allocated at a first device. A first header is defined that includes an identifier of a first file and a sequence value. The defined first header is written to the allocated block of memory, and a first cluster of the first file is written to the allocated block of memory. The first cluster has a second memory size that is smaller than the first predetermined memory size. The sequence value is updated, and a next cluster of the first file is identified. The process is repeated with the next cluster as the first cluster and with the updated sequence value as the sequence value until the first file has been written to the allocated block of memory.

  • Patent number: 6764115
Abstract: A snap lock for securing to a sash of a sliding window or door by interacting with a striking plate and for securing to a frame of the sliding window or door. The snap lock comprises stationary lower and upper plates for sandwiching a rectilinearly mobile plate for locking the snap lock with respect to the striking plate. The snap lock includes as well: a three-point pivoting mechanism for interconnecting the foregoing plates to perform an unlocking operation; a springy feature for keeping, when relieved from tension, the rectilinearly mobile plate in an unlocked, retracted position, and when under tension, for keeping the rectilinearly mobile plate in a locked position, the springy feature being attached to the stationary lower and upper plates and being actuated by a contact with the striking plate; and a cover having an aperture for locating and accessing a button for acting upon the three-point pivoting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6672632
Abstract: The device comprises a housing encasing a pair of upper and lower hooks, for counter-rotational movements; a pair of upper and lower adjusting assemblies, vertically spaced in parallel with the pair of upper and lower hooks for positioning the latter within the housing; an actuating assembly including a double-armed pivot having a cylindrical body and a pair of radially extending arms, disposed between the pair of upper and lower hooks; and a pair of upper and lower connecting links, mounted between the double-armed pivot and the pair of upper and lower hooks. Upper and lower connecting links are different, to accommodate the cylindrical body, in all the positions of the hooks. The upper connecting link can partially wrap around, the cylindrical body. The lower connecting link can partially wrap around, the cylindrical body.

  • Patent number: 5742911
Abstract: A sectorized cellular radio base station antenna is provided comprising: a plurality (e.g. six) of angularly separated directional transmit antennas (11), each transmit antenna having a central access of transmission, for serving mobile units located in sectors centered on the axis of transmission of the transmit antennas; a plurality (e.g. six) of angularly separated directional receive antennas (30), each having a central axis of reception; and diversity combining means for combining signals from adjacent receive antennas. The central axis of the receiving antennas are at an angular offset to the central axis of the transmit antennas and, for a mobile in a given sector served by a given transmit antenna, the diversity combining means are arranged to combine the signals from the two receive antennas the axes of which lie on either side of that transmit antenna axis.

  • Patent number: 5595966
Abstract: Certain hydrogenated oligomers of 1-alkene hydrocarbons have been found to be substantially biodegradable upon exposure to microbiological agents of types widely available in the environment. Thus, in an operation wherein lubricating oil or functional fluid is released into the environment, there is provided for use as the lubricating oil or functional fluid a substantially biodegradable lubricating oil or functional fluid at least 10 percent by volume of which is composed of at least one substantially biodegradable liquid hydrocarbon of lubricating viscosity formed by oligomerisation of 1-alkene hydrocarbon having 6 to 20 carbon atoms in the molecule and hydrogenation of the resultant oligomer.
