  • Patent number: 10932835
Abstract: A bone fixation device includes a plastically deformable bone fixation body having a screw receiving aperture extending therethrough. The shape of the aperture is defined by a side wall having a first threaded portion, a second smooth walled portion extending from the first threaded portion, and a third smooth walled portion extending from the second portion. The aperture has a step change in cross section between the second and third portions defining a lip. The second and third portions are connected by a lip face extending substantially normal to the aperture length with the edge of the lip face defining the lip. The device further includes at least one bone fixation screw having a shaft and a head. The shaft engages with the first threaded portion of the aperture and the head abuts the lip with an abutment force being directed substantially radially outwards so producing a tight fit.

  • Patent number: 8337506
Abstract: A combination of bone fixation device and bending tool. The bone fixation device comprising a plurality of screw receiving members. Each screw receiving member having an aperture extending there through for receiving a screw. The screw receiving members being connected together in a line by plastically deformable connecting arms extending therebetween. The bending tool comprising first and second bending arms. Each bending arm comprising a first face, a second face and a side wall extending therebetween. The side wall comprising a recess extending between the first and second faces. The intersection of the recess with the first and second faces defining first and second connecting arm receiving apertures respectively. The recess being adapted to receive a screw receiving member.

  • Publication number: 20110264094
Abstract: An external fixation clamp for attaching a fixation pin to a connecting rod, the clamp including a clamp body having a slot dimensioned to transversely receive the connecting rod and a fixation pin bore adapted to receive the fixation pin. The clamp body further includes a set screw bore for receiving a set screw, the set screw bore intersecting the slot and the fixation pin bore. The clamp further includes a set screw adapted to be received in the set screw bore and to extend into the slot and the fixation pin bore so clamping the connecting rod and fixation pin in place.

  • Publication number: 20090240287
Abstract: A bone fixation device comprising: first and second screw receiving members, each member having an aperture extending therethrough for receiving a screw; and a plastically deformable connecting arm extending between the screw receiving members along a long axis defined by the first and second screw receiving members; the arm being adapted to be more pliable than the screw receiving members such that (a) on twisting the device about its long axis the arm twists before the screw receiving members deform; and (b) on bending the device along its long axis the arm bends before the screw receiving members deform.
