  • Publication number: 20090147505
Abstract: A rechargeable portable light having a housing member with an opening for the emission of light, and several possible charging systems including a solar panel, an AC charger, an auto charger, and a hand crank generator charger. An electronic circuit is located within the housing member and includes at least one electrochemical capacitor for power storage. The electrochemical capacitor is charged by a charging system. A power inverter circuit, a mechanical switch method, or a DC-DC IC is used to increase voltage and regulate current. The circuit also includes at least one light emitting diode (LED) positioned near the opening in the housing member, and a switch interposed between the capacitor and the LED. The switch is closed when power is delivered from the capacitor to the LED.

  • Publication number: 20080174989
Abstract: A rechargeable portable light having a housing member with an opening for the emission of light, and two possible charging systems including an AC charger, and an auto or boat charger. An electronic circuit is located within the housing member and includes at least one electrochemical capacitor for power storage. The electrochemical capacitor is charged by a charging system. A charging system is presented that can charge two electrochemical capacitors in series, or more than two electrochemical capacitors in series. A power inverter circuit with a high efficiency (approximately 90% to 95% efficiency) is used to regulate voltage and current from one electrochemical capacitor or two or more electrochemical capacitors in series to a light emitting diode. This circuit includes at least one light emitting diode (LED) positioned near the opening in the housing member, and a switch interposed between the capacitor and the output circuit.

  • Publication number: 20070076530
Abstract: A small personal timing device having a vibration alarm or a beeping alarm and multiple ways to program the alarms, including a meeting/interval timer, a timer with repeating option, twelve daily alarms and a stopwatch. The meeting/interval timer sends 3 unique alarms for any programmed interval between 10 minutes and 120 minutes, and it automatically resets itself for the next ½ hour or hour. The 12 alarms can be used together with the meeting/interval timer and the timer and the stopwatch. An electronic circuit is located within the housing member and includes one AAA battery for power and a micro controller unit that has been masked with a software program.
