The needle is adapted, when in the second, deployed position, to releasably couple to one or both of the first jaw member and the second jaw member of the end effector.

The shoulder is engagable with a drive member of a delivery device while the hinged wing is disposed in the constrained state to enable the drive member to translate the fastener through the delivery device in response to movement of the drive member.
