  • Patent number: 6422556
Abstract: An electrophotographic apparatus stop device that prevents actuation of a gear and feed shaft when a tray is not substantially inserted in an apparatus. The electrophotographic apparatus stop device includes a mechanism slidably positionable between a first position and a second position to mechanically prevent a member of a solenoid from releasing a protrusion of a gear extension.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 30, 2000
Date of Patent: July 23, 2002
    Assignee: Xerox Corporation

  • Patent number: 6382623
Abstract: A solenoid stop assembly that prevents actuation of a gear and feed shaft when a tray is not substantially inserted in an apparatus. The solenoid stop assembly includes a mechanism slidably positionable between a first position and a second position to mechanically prevent a member of a solenoid from releasing a protrusion of a gear extension. A tray is adjustably positionable and functionally interacts with the mechanism in a region of the apparatus and, upon contact, causes the mechanism to move and interrupt motion of the member. A resilient member, such as a spring, biases the mechanism to a position which prevents actuation of a gear and feed shaft when the paper tray is not substantially closed.

Date of Patent: May 7, 2002

  • Patent number: 5414495
Abstract: A method of programming of a machine jam in an image processing apparatus by selecting a sensor associated with a desired sheet path zone by scrolling a list of sensors on a display screen, setting the control to ignore a non jam signal from the selected sensor, initiating the operation of a job run, recording a jam signal from the selected sensor and displaying selected mimics on a display, and cycling down the machine in response to the jam signal by the selected sensor.
