    Abstract: A quick release chuck device includes a body member and a device for attaching the body member to a drive spindle. A longitudinal bore or recess is defined in the body member and a resilient coiled member gripping device is disposed in the longitudinal recess. The coiled member defines an inner diameter bore for receipt of a tool shank inserted therein. A device is provided for variably coiling the coiled member gripping device within the longitudinal recess thereby causing the inner diameter bore to constrict and grip upon a tool shank inserted therein.
