  • Publication number: 20190313866
Abstract: A cleaning tool for a vacuum cleaning accessory of a vacuum cleaning apparatus is disclosed. The cleaning tool may include a body having a suction opening for engaging with a surface to be cleaned. A cavity may be disposed within the body and fluidly connected with the suction opening. A flow channel may be disposed within the body downstream of the cavity. A brushroll may be rotatably mounted about a rotation axis in the cavity. An opening may extend through the body into the cavity for allowing atmospheric air to enter the cavity. The opening may be arranged above the brushroll with respect to the suction opening. Additionally or alternatively, the opening may be arranged in front of the brushroll with respect to the flow channel.

  • Patent number: 6171375
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner exhaust filter assembly includes a main HEPA exhaust filter, and an ion generation stage to add ions to the air. The ion generation stage preferably is a polypropylene mesh which generates ions through static electric interaction with the moving air as the result of friction. The exhaust filter assembly preferably also includes a pre-filter impregnated with carbon, preferably in the form of activated charcoal, to absorb odors from the exhaust air. The filter components, arranged in the preferred order, are the carbon pre-filter, the main HEPA exhaust filter, and the ion generation mesh.

  • Patent number: 5102542
Abstract: Compound filters using two different filter element types are disclosed. When a carbon element is used it is of the concentric type having a central cavity. Filter elements for filtering very fine particles are used in addition. Various types of such elements, including hollow fiber elements, are disposed in a lower portion and/or upper portion. Flow control arrangements, improved filter element removal arrangements, improved filter sealing arrangements, accommodations for filter elements having different lengths and tolerances and filter arrangements for preventing liquid flow when no filter element is present are described.
