  • Publication number: 20210387213
Abstract: A shaping air ring for a rotary bell atomizer spray device includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced nozzles disposed in the shaping air ring, wherein each nozzle has a mix chamber, at least one inlet on an upstream end of the mix chamber, and an outlet at a downstream end of the mix chamber. First and second air flows are provided to the mix chamber through the at least one inlet and a combined air flow is discharged through the outlet. The combined air flow shapes the spray pattern of the liquid sprayed by the rotary bell atomizer spray device.

  • Patent number: 5279206
Abstract: A variable displacement radial ball pump (11) is disclosed of the type in which the balls (59) are restrained by a cam ring (25), which is pivotable about a cam pivot pin (27) to vary the displacement of the pump. In accordance with the invention, in order to return the pump to absolute zero displacement, the pump is provided with a detent mechanism (65;83). The cam ring 25 has a neutral region (73) and a ramp surface (77), and a detent member (69;89) is biased into engagement with the neutral region when the cam ring is in neutral (FIGS. 2 and 3). When the cam ring is displaced from neutral, the detent member engages the ramp surface, against the bias force of a spring (71;91), which exerts a force tending to return the cam ring to neutral in the absence of an input to the control assembly (33).

  • Patent number: 4968227
Abstract: A variable displacement, rotary fluid pressure pump (11) is disclosed of the type having a cam ring member (25) which is movable, in response to rotation of a control shaft (35), between a neutral position (FIG. 5) and a displaced position (FIG. 4). The pump housing (13, 15) includes a support member (25), and they cooperate to define a high-pressure fluid passage (51). In communication with the passage (51) is a recess (71), in which is disposed a dampening shoe (73). The dampening shoe is biased by high-pressure fluid in the passage (51) into engagement with an adjacent surface (77) of the cam ring (25). The surface (77) defines a neutral fluid passage (79), and the dampening shoe (73) defines a restricted opening (85).
