The third portion is disposed between the first portion and the second portion. The third portion compresses when the door is closed against a cabinet frame. The additional pane of glass is laminated across one of the panes of glass of the VIG panel assembly to form a refrigerator side of the door. The electrically conductive coating extends across at least a majority of a viewing area of the door and is connected to an electrical conduit for electrically heating the coating to apply heat across the viewing area between the VIG panel assembly and the additional pane of glass.
