  • Patent number: 10695509
Abstract: A negative pressure injection device which includes a suction cup and an inner skirt that encircles an injection port and depends into the interior of the suction cup. An injection member is surrounded by and protrudes below the inner skirt. When air is drawn from the suction cup an epidermis of a patient is drawn into the suction cup until the epidermis comes into contact with the inner skirt and that portion of the injection member protruding below the inner skirt. The inner skirt provides consistent epidermis positioning. The depth of injection is consistently defined by the extent to which the injection member protrudes below the inner skirt.

  • Publication number: 20190290791
Abstract: Methods and systems for a catheter access port cleaning, disinfection or sterilization device are disclosed. The catheter access port cleaning, disinfection or sterilization device may comprise, a first housing having a power source and control circuit; a second housing shaped to mate with a catheter and having a first ultra-violet light source mounted therein, the first housing wired to the second housing to power the light source. When activated, the ultra-violet light source emits ultra-violet radiation that is transmitted from the second housing to the catheter attached to a patient. In this way, the device provides an efficient system for cleaning, disinfecting or sterilizing an access port in the second housing while reducing patient infections.

  • Publication number: 20170296092
Abstract: Various embodiments are described herein for a device, system, and method for identifying a location of an ingestible device within a gastrointestinal tract of a body. In some embodiments, the ingestible device includes a sensing unit with an axial optical sensing sub-unit located proximal to at least one end of the device, and a radial optical sensing sub-unit located proximal to a radial wall of the device, and may autonomously identify a location within the gastrointestinal tract. In some embodiments, the ingestible device includes optical illumination sources and detectors that operate at a plurality of different wavelengths, and may discern regions of a gastrointestinal tract by using the reflection properties of organ tissue and occasional particulates. In some embodiments, the ingestible device may sample fluid or release medicament based on a detected device location.
