  • Patent number: 11822193
Abstract: A portable information handling system housing integrates a display having an edge-to-edge presentation of visual images at a housing portion with an inactive portion of a display panel along a perimeter of the display having a sensor region that provides access to underlying sensors through the display. A sealant and black matrix disposed in the inactive region limits illumination that escapes from an active region and provides an aesthetically appealing edge-to-edge appearance. Openings in the sealant and black matrix at the sensor locations provides access through the display, such as with index matching resin that passes illumination and a patterned covering of the black matrix.

  • Patent number: 11692664
Abstract: A pipe insulation coupling for supporting a pipe and for coupling adjacent ends of pipe insulation tubing is disclosed. The pipe insulation coupling comprises an outer tube wall, a planar interior wall and a sealing mechanism. The outer tube wall extends along a longitudinal axis. The outer tube wall is split longitudinally from a first end thereof to a second end thereof to define a first body portion and a second body portion. The planar interior wall extends inwardly from the outer tube wall transverse to the longitudinal axis. The planar interior wall includes a center bore for receiving the pipe. The planar interior wall provides an abutment for the adjacent ends of the pipe insulation tubing. The sealing mechanism extends longitudinally between the first and second ends of the outer tube wall for securing the first and second body portions together.

  • Patent number: 10989335
Abstract: A pipe support is coupled to an elongated channel for receiving and supporting a pipe. The channel includes a base and a pair of spaced apart sidewalls extending from the base to a top plate. A flange projects downwardly from each top plate towards the base and defines a slot therebetween. The pipe support includes a body portion extending axially between opposite ends and having an inner surface and an outer surface. The body portion includes a generally arcuate bottom floor and a pair of spaced apart sidewalls projecting generally upwardly from the bottom floor. A plurality of axially spaced apart channel clips project downwardly from the outer surface of the body portion opposite the side walls. The channel clips have a leg portion and an outwardly projecting barb portion wherein the channel clips extend through the slot in the channel and the barb portions engage the respective spaced apart flanges to operatively couple the pipe support to the channel.

  • Patent number: 10969841
Abstract: A portable information handling system transfers thermal energy associated with operation of processing components in a main housing portion to a vapor chamber integrated in a lid housing portion that distributes the thermal energy across the lid housing portion. A hinge protrusion formed in the lid housing portion defines a cylindrical opening that accepts a hinge pin to rotationally couple the housing portions to each other. The cylindrical wall defines a barrier with the vapor chamber so that a thermal conduit passing from the main housing portion to the hinge pin transfers thermal energy from the hinge pin through the cylindrical wall to the vapor chamber.

  • Patent number: 10936031
Abstract: A portable information handling system transfers thermal energy associated with operation of a CPU to a location distal the CPU with a vapor chamber thermally interfaced with the CPU. A pressure adapter interfaced with the vapor chamber selectively changes the pressure within the vapor chamber to adjust the saturation point of a liquid in the vapor chamber that manages thermal transfer efficiency. For example, a controller interfaced with the pressure adapter modifies thermal transfer characteristics of the vapor chamber to control thermal conditions at the information handling system, such as in response to a temperature sensed at a housing surface, a battery, a display or at other locations of the information handling system.

  • Patent number: 10914405
Abstract: A riser clamp assembly for receiving and supporting an insulated pipe. The clamp assembly includes a first riser clamp and a second riser clamp. Each of the riser clamps includes a semi-circular body portion extending arcuately between opposite first and second ends and defining an inner cylindrical wall and an outer cylindrical wall extending axial between top and bottom edges. A generally C-shaped flange projects radially from the inner cylindrical wall generally midway between the top and bottom edges to define an axial center opening. A support brace extends radially from the outer cylindrical wall adjacent each end of the body portion for interconnecting the first and second riser clamps around the insulated pipe.

  • Patent number: 10802555
Abstract: A portable information handling system transfers thermal energy associated with operation of a CPU from a main housing portion to a lid housing portion with thermal conduction through a hinge assembly that rotationally couples the main and lid housing portions to each other. For example, thermal conduits insert into a hinge body and transfer thermal energy across the hinge body through a thermally conductive interface, such as the hinge body itself, thermal grease disposed in the hinge body, a liquid that fills a cavity of the hinge body shared by the thermal conduits, and a vapor chamber integrated in the hinge body.

  • Patent number: 10802556
Abstract: A portable information handling system transfers thermal energy associated with operation of processing components in a first housing portion to a thermal exchanger in a second housing portion through a hinge that rotationally couples the first and second housing portions. The hinge has first and second axles that each define a channel. Fluid heated at the first housing portion passes through the channel to the thermal exchanger where thermal energy is rejected from the system. In one embodiment, a second hinge having first and second axles that each define a channel provides a return path for the fluid from the second housing portion to the first housing portion.
