  • Publication number: 20190177377
Abstract: Novel insecticidal proteins that are toxic to lepidopteran pests are disclosed. The DNA encoding the insecticidal proteins can be used to transform prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms to express the insecticidal proteins. The recombinant organisms or compositions containing the recombinant organisms or the insecticidal proteins alone or in combination with an appropriate agricultural carrier can be used to control lepidopteran pests in various environments.

  • Patent number: 10319150
Abstract: Users can view images or renderings of items placed (virtually) within a physical space. For example, a rendering of an item can be placed within a live camera view of the physical space. A snapshot of the physical space can be captured and the snapshot can be customized, shared, etc. The renderings can be represented as two-dimensional images, e.g., virtual stickers or three-dimensional models of the items. Users can have the ability to view different renderings, move those items around, and develop views of the physical space that may be desirable. The renderings can link to products offered through an electronic marketplace and those products can be consumed. Further, collaborative design is enabled through modeling the physical space and enabling users to view and move around the renderings in a virtual view of the physical space.

  • Patent number: 10264958
Abstract: A sensor-equipped laryngoscope may be used in a system and method for quantifying intubation performance. The level of experience of health care professionals (HCPs) plays a role in the application of force and torque applied to the laryngoscope during endotracheal intubation on an airway simulator, such as a manikin or animal model (e.g., a ferret). A sensor-equipped laryngoscope may provide data that differentiates the mechanics applied by subject matter experts (SMEs) (e.g., neonatologists) from those by novices or trainees during intubation, particularly on infant or neonatal airway simulators. A laryngoscope may be equipped with one or more sensors (e.g., force/torque sensors, accelerometers, and gyroscopes) to record force, torque, and/or three-dimensional motion during endotracheal intubation. The sensor-equipped laryngoscope may then be used to record intubation mechanics (e.g., during an infant airway simulated intubation) for both SMEs and trainees.

  • Patent number: 10250750
Abstract: In a contact center, a system for processing communication events has an interaction server for managing events waiting to be routed, a routing server for routing the events, a rules engine, and a gateway server executing rules invocation logic and interacting with the rules engine. The interaction server tracks incoming events, initiates and sends a routing request to the routing server, including a special routing object, for each event that requires conformance to business rules, the routing server, executing the routing object, sends an execution request to the gateway server, which upon receipt of the request prepares a business object model (BOM), being a set of facts upon which the rules engine executes rules appropriate to the facts, resulting in routing direction for the routing server to route the event.

  • Publication number: 20190017229
Abstract: A method and system for strengthening and hardening unpaved surfaces is presented wherein a triglyceride composition is applied to an unpaved area. The composition is comprised of a homogenized mixture of one or more triglycerides, water, one or more surfactants, and, optionally, a catalyst. The triglycerides used in the composition are generally commercially-available oils and greases, such as naturally-derived oils that contain mono- and poly-unsaturated fatty acid triglycerides, such as those found in used cooking oil. The surfactant acts as a stabilizing agent and also aids in the saturation of the unpaved surface during application. The catalyst facilitates the drying and hardening process. The unpaved surface is compacted with a heavy roller and/or a vibratory compactor and then coated with an application of the triglyceride composition. In alternate embodiments, the triglyceride mixture is applied before the unpaved surface is compacted.

  • Patent number: 10140515
Abstract: A music playlist may be generated based on images selected by a user on a computing device. For example, by using image classification and machine learning, image descriptors may automatically be associated with an image and the assigned image descriptors mapped to music descriptors associated with songs. Songs associated with the mapped music descriptors are identified and assembled in a playlist sent to the user's device. Additional images may be identified, for example based on the image descriptors of the selected images and the music descriptors, to identify images to display during playback of the playlist.

  • Publication number: 20180330544
Abstract: Systems and methods for a markerless approach to displaying an image of a virtual object in an environment are described. A computing device is used to capture an image of a real-world environment; for example including a feature-rich planar surface. One or more virtual objects which do not exist in the real-world environment are displayed in the image, such as by being positioned in a manner that they appear to be resting on the planar surface, based at least on a sensor bias value and scale information obtained by capturing multiple image views of the real-world environment.
