  • Publication number: 20070198793
Abstract: A system to protect data including a processor and a memory coupled to the processor to store instructions executable by a digital processing apparatus. The memory is operable to perform operations to protect stored data. The operations include receiving a write request for a current data input comprising input to be written to at least one monitored region of a storage volume, determining whether the current data input is a complete managed object and whether the current data input completes a previously deferred I/O operation and writing the current data input to a deferred storage device based on the determinations. Therefore, the system writes complete managed objects to the physical disk storage medium.

  • Publication number: 20060044582
Abstract: An image-processing system having a processor and image-processing modules configured to process at least one image file, wherein the image-processing modules are independent from one another. Further, an interface device is operatively coupled to the processor and configured to create a process flow to automate at least one sequence of at least two of the plurality of image-processing modules to modify the at least one image file, provide the processor with a standard image format for uniformly using the at least one image file for each of the image-processing modules, and provide the processor with a standard file reference for uniformly accessing the at least one image file for each of the image-processing modules.

  • Publication number: 20050091166
Abstract: A method and system for remotely activating document features in locally created electronic documents. Documents having certain document features are created in a design application at a local computer. Codes correlating to the imparted document features are generated and embedded in the document file. Documents are delivered to a remote computer having a viewer application for opening and viewing the document. The viewer application reads the generated codes and unlocks functionality in the application for implementation of document features. The document features may provide enhanced functionality as value-added items such as digital signature capability, the ability to view a document in high fidelity, and local saving of the document with associated document data.

  • Publication number: 20050015407
Abstract: A method of automating the process of creating a remote mirror of a relational database management system (RDBMS) includes discovering storage configuration and database layout at a primary database, relaying this information to a backup storage subsystem, monitoring that database and storage systems for changes and conveying storage and/or database changes to the backup storage subsystem. A self-configuring backup mirroring system for dynamic relational configuration includes a source system monitoring one or more storage servers and a computer system running a RDBMS. A backup system provides a disaster recovery environment for the source system wherein backup storage components duplicate the source storage components. The backup system may be used to reconstruct the source storage system if necessary. Finally, software agents run at both the source and backup systems.
