  • Publication number: 20050203923
Abstract: In at least some embodiments, a system may comprise a network link adapter, wherein the network link adapter is configurable to detect when a first device transmits data targeting a second device and write the data targeting the second device to an address of a memory. The system further comprises a monitoring unit coupled to the network link adapter, the monitoring unit detects when the data is written to the address of the memory and forwards the data to the second device.

  • Publication number: 20040223003
Abstract: An image generator is organized into a plurality of rendering engines, each of which renders an image of a part scene and provides the part image to a merge engine associated with that rendering engine. The image is a part image in that it usually contains less than all of the objects in the image to be rendered. The merge engine merges the part image from its associated rendering engine with the part image provided by a prior merge engine and provides the merged part image to a next merge engine. One or more merge engines are designated the output merge engines and these output merge engines output a merged part image that is (a portion of) the ultimate output of the image generator, the full rendered image. Each merge engine performs its merge process on the pixels it has from its rendering engine and from its prior neighbor merge engine, in a pipelined manner and without necessarily waiting for all of the pixels of the part image or the merged part image.

  • Publication number: 20040207623
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a rendering cluster that renders an image of a scene object. The rendering cluster may comprise an illumination node that produces illumination output based on lighting properties of the scene object and a material node that produces material output based on material properties of the scene object. The illumination output is combined with the material output to form the image.

  • Patent number: 6692656
Abstract: A method of using a mixture as an amphoteric buffer is disclosed comprising mixing sulfuric acid, magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide, and water to form an amphoteric buffer, and applying the buffer to a spill of an acid or alkali so as to neutralize the spill.

  • Patent number: 6192447
Abstract: A resettable memory apparatus includes a random access memory including a plurality of memory locations, each memory location stores a plurality of bits of data. A single register has a plurality of bits, there is one bit for each of the plurality of memory locations. A reset signal resets all of the bits in the register to invalid. A reset value is generated when reading a particular one of the memory locations while the corresponding bit in the register is invalid to provide a resettable random access memory. Writing data to the particular memory location sets the corresponding bit in the register to valid. Subsequent reads to the location while produced the data stored therein as long as the corresponding bit in the register remains valid.

  • Patent number: 5692159
Abstract: A field programmable gate array is configured to interface a source of externally produced input digital signals to a host computer system. The input signals having a first data type are reformatted to output digital signals having a second data type compatible with the computer system. The computer system can be used for storing and processing the output digital signals. The interface includes a first set of registers connected to the external source. The first set of registers store first portions of the input digital signals. A first buffer connected to the first set of registers store a combination of the first portions of the input digital signals, the combination of the first portions of the input digital signals stored in the first buffer formatted according to the second data type. The interface also includes a direct memory access controller to transport the combinations of the first portions of the input digital signals as output digital signals to the memory of the computer system.
