Abstract: A product design system is disclosed, the system comprising a user input device, a display device, and a product database containing product template files, each product template file containing a representation of a product and a dimension of the product. The system includes a product selection module for selecting a product template file from the product database based on user input from the user input device. An in-store display module is also provided for displaying the representation of the product together with a representation of a merchandise display unit, wherein the in-store display module displays the product and the merchandise display unit at a relative size determined by the dimension of the product contained in the selected product template file and a stored dimension of the merchandise display unit.
