  • Patent number: 5505040
Abstract: A process and apparatus for producing, filling, and sealing bags out of a tube including a molding tube and a traveling inner tube that has a nozzle attached to it, against whose base a square bottom for a bag is folded. The nozzle is moved with a grasping device at the same speed as the feed velocity of the tube and parallel to it. The grasping device is disposed on a transverse seam jaw housing, which for its part can be moved along the feed path of the tube. Using the apparatus according to the invention and the process applicable to it, square bottoms can be folded in bags during a continuous feed of the tube, which gives rise to an especially high output of the apparatus.
