  • Patent number: 12202038
Abstract: A method and apparatus for real-time in-mould marking of a moulded or cast form with an identifier in which a configurable marking module (1) with phase change actuators (23) in the form of a multi-layered printed circuit board assembly (1) with a vertical element (33) having a marker (21) is installed in a mould (2), (35), the marker (21) being remotely configurable by a controller to create a unique identifier which is applied to the form in the mould.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 14, 2019
Date of Patent: January 21, 2025
    Assignee: University of Limerick
Inventors: Jennifer Hennessy, John Harris, Mark Southern
  • Patent number: 11477892
Abstract: A PCB, printed circuit board, structure for forming at least one embedded electronic component. The structure comprises a multi-layer PCB board comprising at least one through-hole via, the via comprising a plurality of electrodes vertically aligned within the via, each electrode comprising a plated ring; and an isolation section separating each of the electrodes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 2, 2019
Date of Patent: October 18, 2022
    Assignee: UNIVERSITY OF LIMERICK

  • Publication number: 20170136485
Abstract: An aperture plate is formed from a palladium nickel alloy comprising about 89% palladium and about 11% nickel. There is a generally fine substantially equiaxed grain microstructure throughout the thickness of the aperture plate. The average grain width (W) is in the range of from 0.2 ?m to 5.0 ?m, in some cases from 0.2 ?m to 2.0 ?m. Because the grain structure is equiaxed (L/W=1) the grain length (L) is the same as the grain width. The improved aperture plate extends the life of nebulisers, eliminates the risk of premature and unpredictable failure of a nebuliser in service, eliminates the risk of product returns from hospitals and patients, and eliminates the possible risk of fragments of the aperture plate breaking free from the nebulizer.
