  • Patent number: 11499726
Abstract: A coaxial gas valve assembly includes a gas inlet, a gas outlet, a valve tube, and a shaft member. A main valve is movable between a closed position and an open position (broadly, openable and closable). A main spring is positioned to resiliently bias the main valve in its closed position. A redundant valve is movable between a closed position and an open position (broadly, openable and closable). A redundant spring is positioned to resiliently bias the redundant valve in its closed position. A solenoid coil is positioned to electromagnetically move the shaft member within the valve tube. A balance diaphragm is connected to the valve tube. A gas path through at least the valve tube allows gas flow from a first side of the balance diaphragm to a second side of the balance diaphragm to reduce a pressure difference between the first and second sides of the balance diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 7655051
Abstract: An artificial hands having more than one articulated digit wherein the digits are biased in a closed position by springs, and digits are opened by a cord attached to the dorsal side of the digit and a lever, wherein the lever is rotatably mounted to an anchoring plate and pulled by a cable; wherein the cable is pulled manually by means of a shoulder strap, or electronically by a motor.

  • Publication number: 20070069167
Abstract: A solenoid operated valve is provided that comprises an inlet, an outlet, a valve seat in the flow path between the inlet and the outlet, and a valve member slidably mounted for movement in a direction aligned with but perpendicular to the plane of the valve seat, and a lever having one end in connection with the valve member and a pivotal end that is operable for moving the valve member between its closed and open positions. The solenoid operated valve further comprises a solenoid actuated member having spaced apart first and second surfaces for engaging the pivotal end of the lever to move the valve member between its closed and open position, and a spring for resiliently biasing the solenoid actuated member so that the first surface engages the pivotal end of the lever to move the valve member to a closed position against the valve seat when the solenoid is not energized.

  • Publication number: 20070057079
Abstract: A thermostat is provided that comprises a high resolution display device and is capable of downloading at least one electronic image file for display during time periods in which the user is not interacting with the thermostat. Some embodiments may download two or more images and alternate between the display of each of the at least two downloaded electronic files. The two electronic image files may be successively displayed as a screensaver during time periods when the user is not interacting with the thermostat. Some embodiments of a thermostat may further be adapted to permit the user to save the downloaded electronic files, and to selectively enter names for the downloaded electronic files or delete the electronic files as desired.

  • Publication number: 20060197043
Abstract: A flow valve that provides for control of a fluid flow rate utilizing a first open position and a second open position. Various embodiments of a flow valve having an inlet, an outlet, and a passageway therebetween are provided that comprise a damper element pivotally arranged within the passageway that is movable between a first position in which fluid flow through the passageway is substantially unaffected by the damper element, and at least a second position in which fluid flow through the passageway is substantially reduced by the damper element. An adjustable stop is further provided for adjustably limiting the movement of the damper element to establish the second position of the damper. A moveable operator is provided for moving the damper element between the first position and second position.
