    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for use of a portable speaker system both as part of a vehicular audio system and as a stand-alone audio system. A speaker may be attached to an internal speaker receptacle of a vehicle and coupling to an audio amplifier of the vehicle. Audio performances received by the speaker from the audio amplifier may then be played by the speaker. The speaker may also be decoupling from the audio amplifier of the vehicle and detached from the internal speaker receptacle of the vehicle. Audio performances received by the speaker from a wireless interface coupled to the speaker may then be played by the speaker.
