  • Publication number: 20100108346
Abstract: A building entrance terminal box using modular panels. The connection chamber of the box receives modular panels which snap into place without the need for screws. Each module includes a prewired surge protection field and output wire termination device. The surge protection field is also prewired to a connector for mating with the input wire termination device in the splice chamber. When the module is snapped into place, a connection is made with a grounding bar automatically. Various size modules may be used within a box.

  • Patent number: 6238232
Abstract: The invention allows for an increase in termination density for customer cable pairs in electronic cabinets, building terminals, and protectors and switching equipment terminations in central offices by providing a connector module is provided having a first insulating housing cap including a row of slots and a row of contact cavities defined within the first housing cap by contact guiding walls. Each slot is adapted for receiving a wire and each cavity is arranged in open communication with one of the slots and has a first orientation relative to the slots. A second insulating housing cap including a row of slots and a row of contact cavities defined within the second housing cap by contact guiding walls. Each slot is adapted for receiving a wire and each cavity being arranged in open communication with one of the slots and has a second orientation relative to the slots. A row of contacts are mounted within the first and second housing caps.

  • Patent number: 5805404
Abstract: A modular connector block system used for making terminations of telephone circuit wires. The system enables terminal blocks of different size and density to be formed utilizing similar insulated housings and hardware. Connector modules having multiple pairs of insulation displacement connecting (IDC) terminals, for example, 8 or 10 pair per module, are insertable into a mounting bracket to form the double-sided connecting block. The 8 and 10-pair connector modules utilize an identical insulated housing to save on tooling costs. The same mounting hardware may also be utilized for either module. In addition, certain accessories, such as, circuit protection modules and terminal caps, used for enclosing the terminations, are likewise insertable onto either connector module. Each type of accessory shares an essentially identical housing, which further saves a manufacturer in terms of tooling costs and number of different components that must be produced.
