  • Publication number: 20230191648
Abstract: There is provided a handheld circular saw comprising a main body. The main body comprises a fixed blade guard configured to receive a circular cutting blade having an axis of rotation. A graspable handle is arranged in a forward position on the main body to enable a user to wield the power tool in use and a movable blade guard is arranged to surround at least a part of the cutting blade. An actuator arrangement configured to move the movable blade guard from a first position to a second position, where a greater proportion of the cutting blade is exposed in the second position than in the first position, the actuator arrangement having an actuator grip to enable the user to activate the actuator arrangement. The actuator grip is located and arranged forwardly of the graspable handle to enable actuation by the fingers of the user's hand which is grasping the graspable handle in use.

  • Patent number: 8756905
Abstract: A mower comprising an edge guide located adjacent an outer surface of a side wall and at least partially surrounding an opening. The edge guide comprises an inlet and is arranged to guide vegetation towards the opening. The edge guide defines a channel having at least one direction change between the inlet and the opening such that there is no line of sight between the inlet and the cutter element. By providing an edge guide having a convoluted path or channel, an opening in the side wall of the cutter housing can extend vertically up to the plane of the cutter element while still providing a radially-enclosed cutter element as required by safety regulations. Therefore, edge-located vegetation can be fed to the cutter in a more upright configuration for improved cutting.

  • Publication number: 20130036615
Abstract: There is disclosed a sheath for an electric cable for an electrically-powered trimmer and to an electrically-powered trimmer comprising a sheath. The trimmer has a body and first and second cutting blades each having a plurality of teeth. The trimmer also has a sheath disposed about at least a part of the cable. At least one portion of the sheath can be received in the cutting space between teeth and extends beyond the cable by a distance that exceeds the depth d of the cutting space. At least one portion of the sheath is wider than the opening width w of the cutting space. Thus, the dimensions of the sheath prevent the cable from entering the cutting space for any orientation of the sheath.

  • Patent number: 8122554
Abstract: An apparatus with a main unit, a dispenser, a clamp and a clamp structure. The main unit includes a housing, a battery in the housing, a motor in the housing and connected to the battery, and an output drive shaft driven by the motor. The dispenser includes a body that defines a body aperture and which has a reservoir for storing a fluid, and a nozzle in fluid communication with the reservoir. The dispenser is configured to permit the stored fluid to be dispensed from the reservoir through the nozzle. The clamp is coupled to either the main unit or the dispenser and includes a pivotable engagement member. The clamp structure is coupled to the other one of the main unit and the dispenser and includes a second engagement member that can be releasably engaged to the engagement member. The housing is received through the body aperture.
