  • Publication number: 20200385792
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and kits for detecting a nucleic acid or antigen in a sample using a universal array platform. For example, a nucleic acid can be detected by amplifying at least a portion of a nucleic acid from a sample using a primer pair comprising a first primer comprising a label and a first oligonucleotide sequence that hybridizes with a first strand of the portion of the nucleic acid and a second primer comprising a second oligonucleotide sequence that hybridizes with a second strand of the portion of the nucleic acid; contacting the amplicon, if present, to a plurality of single-stranded oligonucleotide capture sequences each affixed to a solid support; applying a colloidal detection reagent to the solid supports; washing the solid supports with a wash solution; and detecting the colloidal detection reagent. The present disclosure further relates to specific capture and tether oligonucleotide sequences.

  • Patent number: 9533230
Abstract: Ghost expressions with user-provided information may be provided in asynchronous gameplay. According to some implementations, ghost data associated with a first performance by a first user of a first task in a game may be obtained. The ghost data may be configured to allow generation of a ghost expression in the game corresponding to the first performance of the first task in the game by the first user. User-provided information associated with the first performance of the first task in the game may be obtained. The ghost data may be augmented with the user-provided information to obtain augmented ghost data. The augmented ghost data may be provided to effectuate presentation in the game of the ghost expression and at least some of the user-provided information via a client computing platform associated with the first user or a second user of the game.

  • Publication number: 20110035610
Abstract: A method for controlling the power consumption in a peer-to-peer (P2P) network of content delivery devices is provided. The method comprises the steps of: determining the capacity of the network to deliver each content unit stored on a device; determining the demand of the network for each content unit stored on the device; comparing the capacity with the demand for each content unit stored on the device; and controlling the power supplied to said device based on said comparison.

  • Publication number: 20010027968
Abstract: The Retractable Cauterizing Knife is a handyman's tool which combines the utility of a pocket knife with the power of a cautery. It has a cautery filament installed on the cutting edge of the blade with wiring leading through the shaft of the blade to a AA-size battery pack which also serves as the handle of the knife. With just two standard AA-size batteries, the cautery filament can heat to a scorching, red-hot 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit. The cautery can be activated only when the knife is in the extended and locked back position, and a spring-loaded switch is pressed. Therefore, the knife is extremely safe and will not turn on if left alone or dropped. It has unlimited utility, and is particularly valuable for the handyman, cook, and hobbyist.
