  • Patent number: 6418195
Abstract: An apparatus communicates a diagnostic device with a telecommunications service source, or alternatively with a telecommunications service subscriber device, through a remote network unit. The apparatus includes a test plug structure receivable in operative engagement with a panel of over-voltage protection receptacles in the remote network unit. The apparatus further includes an engagement structure which connects the test plug structure with the diagnostic device in a plurality of selectable alternative conditions. These include a first condition in which the engagement structure communicates the diagnostic device with the service source through the test plug structure, and a second condition in which the engagement structure communicates the diagnostic device alternatively with the subscriber device through the test plug structure.

  • Patent number: 6396673
Abstract: A communications system including an over-voltage and over-current surge protection circuit is provided that passes high frequency signals between transmitting and receiving devices with low attenuation. The protection circuit includes a current limiter and over-voltage protection device. The over-voltage protection device includes a diode device comprising a set of anti-parallel diodes, which is connected in series with a shunt device. The over-voltage protection device is coupled between a signal transmission line and ground. The current limiter is coupled between the transmitting and receiving devices.

  • Patent number: 5603451
Abstract: A thermostat for use within a building consisting of a wall-mounted unit and a remote unit movably attached thereto by means of a removable, flexible connecting cable. The remote unit is composed of a separate base portion and a separate movable portion. The base portion is provided with means for attaching the base portion to the back of a room furnishing and the movable portion can removably attach to either the wall-mounted unit when the connecting cable is removed or to the base portion when the connecting cable is reattached. The base portion is provided with "U" shaped sides which form a track for movably receiving the movable portion when the movable portion is disengaged from the wall-mounted unit.
