  • Patent number: 5137937
Abstract: The present invention is a flame retarded thermoplastic resin composition comprising a thermoplastic resin, optional adjuvants for the resin, and a flame retardant; the flame retardant is an amine salt of a phosphorus acid in an effective amount.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 2, 1991
Date of Patent: August 11, 1992
Assignee: Albright & Wilson Americas Inc.
Inventors: Mark T. Huggard, Preston S. White
  • Patent number: 4710522
Abstract: Foamable and foamed compositions comprising blends of an aromatic sulfone polymer, a linear polyester and an aromatic polycarbonate are disclosed. The composition, useful as an ovenable food container, is formed in a process in which the three components are intimately admixed, heated and extruded below or above the foamable temperature, depending upon whether a foamable or foamed composition is desired.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 9, 1986
Date of Patent: December 1, 1987
    Assignee: Mobil Oil Corporation
    Inventor: Mark T. Huggard
  • Patent number: 4466933
Abstract: There are provided methods for making heat-resistant, foamed, crystalline plastic materials. For example, polyethylene terephthalate may be foamed with a polycarbonate, extruded into a foamed sheet and this foamed sheet may be thermoformed by being subjected to crystallization annealing. The thermoformed, foamed, crystalline plastic sheets prepared by this process are particularly useful for forming light weight, ovenable food containers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 4, 1984
Date of Patent: August 21, 1984
    Assignee: Mobil Oil Corporation
    Inventor: Mark T. Huggard
  • Patent number: 4462947
