Abstract: An autonomous volume control device is described which has detectors for measuring tilt and acceleration in one or more axes. The amount of tilt and acceleration is used as an indication of the amount and type of vehicle activity, thus being used also to control the volume of the vehicle's audio system. The described volume control device requires no wiring or connections to any vehicle subsystem and the device may be mounted to the vehicle without any particular orientation being required.
