  • Publication number: 20140263548
Abstract: A reusable surgical stapling device is provided. The stapling device includes a staple pusher assembly and an approximation assembly. The stapling device further includes a handle assembly including first and second handle sections pivotally secured in relation to each other about a proximal portion of the staple pusher and approximation assemblies. The first and second handle sections being pivotal between an open configuration and a closed configuration. When in the open configuration, the first and second handle sections are pivoted to expose the proximal portion of the staple pusher and approximation assemblies. An outer tube is selectively received about a distal portion of the staple pusher and approximation assemblies. A ferrule is received about a proximal end of the outer tube and is releasably connected to a distal end of the first and second handle sections to secure the outer tube to the handle assembly and retain the first and second handle sections in a closed configuration.

  • Publication number: 20070079663
Abstract: A device to employ directed centrifugal force for use as rectilinear motion utilizing a novel harmonic motion, oscillating arcing eccentric mass resonator, which flexes about an axis of rotation with limited angular displacement. The stator and rotating oscillator are technically a single mass, in that they are magnetically coupled to provide an elastic tension K and thus produce a natural resonant frequency form, such as a tuning fork. Said eccentric centrifugal mass is also coupled by centripetal magnetic levitation force and thus has no frictional load, therefore. The preferred embodiment uses two sets of like thrusters and like frequency but one set is 90 degrees out of phase with the other set. This arrangement is able to cancel out any recoil force on the vehicle mass. Thrust is amplitude modulated. The oscillating momentum of the mass is amplified for greater thrust at the resonant frequency. The device may be employed for any mode of travel.

  • Publication number: 20060272122
Abstract: An agitator assembly having a spindle having a first end, a second end, and a longitudinal axis. One or more primary agitators are attached to the spindle between the first end and the second end, and edge agitators are attached in a generally circumferential pattern around the spindle's first end. In one aspect, the edge agitators may be arranged at different inclination angles. In another aspect, the edge agitators may be attached on offset circumferential lines. In another aspect, at least one of the edge agitators is more flexible than a primary agitator. In another aspect, the first end has an edge cleaning assembly that is attached to the spindle and rotationally fixed relative thereto by one or more rotationally interlocking structures formed integrally with the edge cleaning assembly. Also provided is a cleaner having a housing and a spindle, with a window through the housing to view the first end of the spindle and substantially no other parts of the spindle.
