  • Publication number: 20140280699
Abstract: A method and apparatus for communicating data to a browsing session is disclosed In one embodiment, the method comprises receiving a first information from a first browsing session in a proxy, the first information comprising a request for a webpage having at least one webpage element, transmitting a second information comprising a first wrapper distinct from the requested webpage, establishing a first communications session between the first wrapper and the proxy; and transmitting a third information to the first browser via the first communications session, the third information comprising at least one element based on the requested webpage element for rendering by the first browsing session via the first wrapper.

  • Publication number: 20070162863
Abstract: A selectable three dimensional virtual pointer (501) that can be selected by a collaborator and displayed within a virtual collaboration environment (200) as being sourced by an avatar (202) that corresponds to the collaborator who selected the pointer. This pointer can be used, for example, to point towards a given object (205) within the virtual collaboration environment. So configured, in a preferred approach this orientation with respect to source and target persists regardless of which collaborator views the pointer (and hence the perspective view of the pointer varies with respect to the viewer in order to ensure this orientation).

  • Publication number: 20060210045
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for telepresence communications in an environment of a virtual location between two or more participants at multiple locations. First perspective data descriptive of the perspective of the virtual location environment experienced by a first participant at a first location and feature data extracted and/or otherwise captured from a second participant at a second location are processed to generate a first virtual representation of the second participant in the virtual environment from the perspective of the first participant. Likewise, second perspective data descriptive of the perspective of the virtual location environment experienced by the second participant and feature data extracted and/or otherwise captured from features of the first participant are processed to generate a second virtual representation of the first participant in the virtual environment from the perspective of the second participant.

  • Publication number: 20060145943
Abstract: Methods in a wireless portable communication device for transmitting annotating audio communication with an image (100), for receiving annotating audio communication with an image (300, 400) are provided. The image may be attached manually or automatically based upon a pre-selected condition to the audio communication.

  • Publication number: 20050245236
Abstract: A communication group is activated within a communication system (100) including an administrator device (125) and at least one subordinate device (130,135). Each subordinate device (130,135) is programmed with a set of operation rules dependent upon communication source (300), information content (305), current time (310), or geographic location (315). The administrator device (125) dynamically changes the stored set of operation rules for the subordinate device (130,135) by communicating a change message.

  • Publication number: 20040100362
Abstract: A method and apparatus for secure data entry by sensing biometric information and determining a desired data based on the biometric information. The method can include sensing a biometric characteristic of an object, generating an expression by associating the biometric characteristic with enrollment data, the expression identifying at least a portion of a specific finger unique to a individual user of the multipurpose input device, determining positional information corresponding to a source location of the biometric characteristic, and generating a token representing a desired data entry based on the expression and the positional information. The positional information or the expression can indicate a subset of a set of potential data entry values and the combination of the positional information and the expression can uniquely define the token representing a desired data entry of the subset of potential data entry values.

  • Publication number: 20040095311
Abstract: A body part position detector 12 (or detectors) provides information regarding the position of a predetermined body part to a virtual image tactile-entry information interface generator 12. The latter constructs a virtual image of the information interface that is proximal to the body part and that is appropriately scaled and oriented to match a viewer's point of view with respect to the body part. A display 13 then provides the image to the viewer. By providing the image of the information interface in close proximity to the body part, the viewer will experience an appropriate haptic sensation upon interacting with the virtual image.
