Abstract: Provided are a computer-implemented method and system for performing an offline peer-to-peer (P2P) based transaction between a payer device and payee device, comprising establishing communication between the payer device and payee device via a short-range wireless communication protocol; sending transaction information data regarding a transaction from the payee device to the payer device; allowing a user to select a provisioned token on the payer device; generating a payee token for the value of the transaction using the provisioned token and the transaction information data; sending the payee token from the payer device to the payee device; and settling the transaction the next time either one of the payee device or payer device connects to a secure network.
