  • Patent number: 12648838
Abstract: The present invention relates to oral care. In order to improve the effectiveness of a flossing device, an interdental space detection component is proposed for detecting an interdental space. The interdental space detection component may be integrated in a brush head with integrated flossing function. The fluidic flossing function may selectively be switched on at the interdental space, thereby saving flossing fluid and preventing ineffective flossing outside the interdental space.

  • Publication number: 20260144614
Abstract: The invention provides a computer implemented method for use in providing guidance in respect of an orthodontic treatment. The orthodontic treatment involves the use of an orthodontic device to move a subject's teeth. The method comprises receiving status information indicating usage of a first orthodontic device and receiving subject discomfort information indicating subject discomfort. The method further comprises determining a stimulus event corresponding to a change in use of the first orthodontic device (for example, inserting or removing the first orthodontic device). Stimulus discomfort information (subject discomfort information corresponding to the stimulus event) is determined and, using the stimulus discomfort information, an orthodontic treatment metric is generated and output.

  • Publication number: 20260096772
Abstract: The invention provides a method for obtaining a measure of user pain at home. The proposed concept is to measure the pain by utilizing sensor data obtained from force and/or motion sensors integrated in a personal care device, e.g. an oral care device, over the course of each of one or more personal care sessions of the user. Patterns in the sensor data, or changes in said patterns, can be used to infer pain information, such as an overall pain level, pain reaction events at certain points during the personal care session and/or at certain locations, or increased sensitivity at certain body areas. This provides a more objective and reliable estimation and monitoring of user oral pain that relying on patient (subjective) reporting of pain.

  • Patent number: 12521217
Abstract: An oral care system for sensing blood in an oral cavity and in gum tissue. The sensing is performed magnetically using a magnetic field source (16) and magnetic sensing arrangement (18) incorporated into a cleaning or treatment portion of an oral care device (e.g. a brush head of a toothbrush or mouthpiece part of a brushing mouthpiece device). The field source generates (16) a reference field and the sensing arrangement (18) is arranged to sense the field strength of the reference field at one or more spatial points. Since blood is magnetic, when brought into the reference field, it magnetically interacts with the field, which may alter field strength, field shape, or flux distribution. This enables presence of blood to be detected. It also allows for detecting specific oral features or disease states associated with presence of blood or abnormal amounts or concentrations of blood. For example, this can be based on application of detection criteria which relate to one or more properties of the sensed field.

  • Patent number: 12427006
Abstract: The invention provides a mouthpiece for dental cleaning system and the dental cleaning system itself. The mouthpiece has a base and inner and outer arches. An actuator is for applying motion to the inner arch and/or the outer arch, relative to the base. A coupling arrangement converts motion of one of the inner and outer arches in one direction relative to the base to motion in an opposite direction relative to the base of the other of the inner and outer arches. By forming the mouthpiece as a central stationary base enveloped by two contour-following and moving arches, an anti-phase brushing motion at opposite tooth sites along the tooth arch is enabled, giving increased reach toward the molars as well as a reduction in device vibration in the mouth.

  • Patent number: 12426808
Abstract: Provided is a system for correcting a sweat analyte measurement for temperature. The system comprises a sweat collector (106) for collecting sweat from skin (102). The collected sweat is drawn from the sweat collector to an outlet (110) via a capillary (108). The sweat is drawn through the capillary by capillary action and evaporation of the sweat from the outlet. The evaporation of the sweat from the outlet depends on the temperature. A flow sensor (112) measures a flow rate of the sweat being drawn through the capillary. An analyte sensor (114) obtains the sweat analyte measurement. The system further comprises a controller which is configured to determine a temperature from the measured flow rate. The sweat analyte measurement is then corrected using the determined temperature. Further provided is a method for correcting a temperature-dependent sweat analyte measurement.
