  • Publication number: 20020198797
Abstract: Risk-based method for assessing an automotive finance company's equity adequacy wherein sources of creditor protection comprises equity, reserves, net deferred tax liability in the event of an overall loss, future tax liability and lifetime profits. Potential unexpected worst-case losses for each of a plurality of exposures is estimated with 99.9% confidence and compared with the company's creditor protection to demonstrate the company's equity adequacy.

  • Patent number: 6264063
Abstract: An orientation maintained fastener delivery system (10) includes an escapement (14), a transfer system (16), and an injector (18). The escapement (14) regulates the flow of fasteners (20) through the orientation maintained fastener delivery system (10). The escapement (14) also delivers fasteners (20) in a desired orientation to the transfer system (16). The transfer system (16) includes a plurality of tubes (26,30) and a distributor (28). The tubes (26,30) maintain the desired orientation of the fasteners (20) as the fasteners (20) are transported to the injector (18). The distributor (28) aligns a tube (26) coupled to the escapement (14) with a tube (30) coupled to the injector (18). The injector (18) receives fasteners (20) from the transfer system (16) in the desired orientation and delivers the fasteners (20) in the desired orientation to an installation device (22).

  • Patent number: 5929719
Abstract: An attenuated cable is formed with an in-line attenuator conducted between two cable lengths wherein the cable lengths are rigidly joined together by a rigid hollow housing which encloses the attenuator therein. The attenuator circuit is housed within the housing, and is electrically connected to the cable lengths without the use of mechanical connections therebetween. The free ends of the cable lengths farthest from the housing are provided with standard connectors for connecting the cable to additional electrical devices such as microphones, mixers or amplifiers. Since the housing and attenuator circuit are relatively small and light relative to the larger cable lengths, the attenuated cable has substantially the same weight and flexibility as a continuous length of cable.

  • Patent number: 5315906
Abstract: A machine for processing a workpiece is disclosed. Preferably, the machine includes a circular saw blade that may be positionable about multiple axes with respect to the workpiece. The machine is particularly suited for processing an elongated workpiece. The machine includes two gripping mechanisms and three vises that cooperate with one another to move an elongated workpiece into position, hold the workpiece while it is being processed, and remove the workpiece from the machine. The machine also includes a computer system that controls the orientation of the saw blade and the movements of the vises and gripping mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 5282610
Abstract: A self-indexing vise 10 for clamping an angled workpiece 47 includes a pair of jaws 20, 32 capable of relative movement, a semi-cylindrical jaw insert 54 received in a recess 52 in one of the jaws 20, 32 and capable of pivoting to automatically conform to the contour of an angled workpiece 47. The jaw insert 54 is sized slightly larger than the recess 52 in which it pivots such that when the vise 10 is loaded, a press fit forms between recess 52 and jaw insert 54 which locks the insert 54 into position.
