  • Publication number: 20240044236
Abstract: A technique facilitates greasing of valves on a well tree, e.g. a frac tree, according to a simple process which enables selected, individual valves to be greased when desired. In some applications, the greasing process may be automated and controlled via a greasing control system. According to an embodiment, a greasing system is connected with grease ports at a plurality of actuatable valves located in a well tree. The greasing system has a plurality of grease valves which may be associated with each of the actuatable valves, e.g. with each of the grease ports. A pump is used to pump grease to the grease valves and the grease valves are selectively actuated to open positions to provide controlled greasing of desired actuatable valves so as to remove debris from and to lubricate selected actuatable valves.

  • Publication number: 20230417118
Abstract: A method can include checking states of valves of equipment with respect to a workflow specification according to a checking order defined by assigned numbers; responsive to the checking of the states of the valves, identifying individual valves that are not in a corresponding state as indicated by the workflow specification; and generating a sequence for changing the state of each of the individual valves that is not in its corresponding state to its corresponding state.

  • Patent number: 8985552
Abstract: A lock open device for use with a valve in a hydraulic fracturing system, which maintains the valve in an open position. The lock open device includes a plate with beveled edges and spring loaded ball bearings strategically disposed to contact the edges and interfere with axial movement of the plate. The plate couples to a gate member in the valve, so that the interference between the plate and the ball bearings maintains the valve in a designated open or closed position. The angle of the bevel regulates how much force is required to urge the plate past the ball bearings to thereby open/close the valve.

  • Patent number: 8936098
Abstract: A casing annulus remediation hose assembly having a hose with an inlet in selective fluid communication with a fluid supply and an exit connected to a nozzle. On the nozzle is an insertion tip for facilitating insertion and retrieval of the hose assembly in and out of an annulus in a wellhead assembly. The insertion tip has an outer annular flexible housing that is coaxially attached to the nozzle and spherical weighted members arranged in series in the housing. A cable extends coaxially from a downstream end of the nozzle and through each weighted member.

  • Publication number: 20140000907
Abstract: A valve assembly for use in regulating a fracturing fluid that includes an actuating stem for actuating a gate, a balancing stem, and a backseat on the stem that defines a backseat seal when urged against a profile in the valve assembly. The backseat seal is energized by applying a force to an end of the balancing stem. An end of the balancing stem is enclosed within a plenum, so that the force on an end of the balancing stem can be applied by pressurizing the plenum. The assembly can be on an opposite side of the valve body/bonnet to create a backseat seal on a balancing stem/bonnet to allow changing the stem packing on the balance stem side while maintaining pressure integrity.
