  • Patent number: 11535748
Abstract: A polycarbonate article is described that is formed from a thermoplastic composition comprised of a polycarbonate or polycarbonate copolymer; and at least 1% by weight of a polysilsesquioxane (PSQ) solid particles that have a decomposition temperature of at least 350° C. and an acicular filler, which desirably has an aspect ratio of 2 to 50. The PSQ particles are desirably spherical. The article is formed by heating the composition and shaping the heated composition, wherein the article and the filler and PSQ particles are dispersed therein, wherein the PSQ particles desirably maintain their spherical morphology.

  • Patent number: 11091633
Abstract: A composition comprising one or more polymers consisting of polycarbonate or a copolymer of greater than 50 mole percent of polycarbonate units and less than 50 mole percent of monomer units which copolymerize with polycarbonate units; 5 to 20 percent by weight of one or more minerals containing high aspect ratio CaSiO3, optionally a buffering agent for basic materials and optionally one or more antioxidants useful with polycarbonate containing compositions. Also disclosed are sheets containing one or more layers of this composition. The sheets exhibit matte surface appearance and are easily recyclable.

  • Patent number: 9345356
Abstract: A floor mat includes a plurality of projections integrally formed and extending from a lower surface. At least some of the projections have a straight axis and a cross section perpendicular to the straight axis that decreases from the base to the tip of the projection. The at least some projections have a height measured along the axis and a width corresponding to its largest dimension measured parallel to a plane of the lower surface such that the ratio of the width to the height of the projection is greater than 1.

  • Publication number: 20130251954
Abstract: An extruded polycarbonate multi-walled sheet structure includes at least two and in some cases seven or more generally parallel spaced apart walls and a plurality of ribs extending the length of the sheet in a direction of extrusion and separating adjacent walls. The sheet structure has a total thickness greater than 40 mm and the polycarbonate has a melt viscosity ratio greater than about 4.5 measured at 260° C. wherein the melt viscosity ratio is a ratio of the viscosity at a shear rate of 100 s?1 to the viscosity at a shear rate of 0.1 s?1.
