  • Publication number: 20240107956
Abstract: A method for excluding an aggressive incompatibility (AI) trait from Agaricus bisporus mushroom strains, wherein the method includes mating a culture of a hybrid mushroom line designated B18287-s82, a representative culture of the line having been deposited under NRRL Accession No. 68168, with a culture of the white mushroom line designated WBL-s290, to obtain an F1 hybrid mushroom strain designated J19109, a representative culture of the F1 strain having been deposited under NRRL Accession No. 68163. Upon fruiting a culture of the new F1 strain designated J19109 to obtain homokaryotic spores therefrom, one obtains cultures of homokaryotic lines from the homokaryotic spores from F1 strain J19109 and selects a culture of a homokaryotic line from the F1 strain J19109. The culture of a homokaryotic line from F1 strain J19109 is mated with a culture of the mushroom line designated J11500-s80, to obtain an F2 hybrid mushroom strain.

  • Publication number: 20230265379
Abstract: The present invention relates to the development of a homokaryotic Agaricus bisporus (Lange) Imbach mushroom fungus line culture designated N-s34 and to cultures obtained, descended, or otherwise derived from line N-s34. More particularly, the present invention relates to cultures incorporating at least one set of chromosomes having a genotype present in the genotype of the chromosomes found in line N-s34. The present invention further relates to F1 hybrids, and to a particular F1 hybrid strain, designated LA3782, descended from N-s34. This particular strain indeed displays an excellent yield weight of the harvested crop, especially in the third-flush, and a very good shelf-life of the mushroom products. The invention additionally relates to progeny, lines and strains derived from or descended from, or otherwise developed or obtained from, line N-s34 and from said hybrid strain LA3782. The invention further relates to methods of use of the cultures described hereinabove.

  • Publication number: 20210251181
Abstract: A culture of the Agaricus bisporus strain B12998 is provided, the culture of the strain B12998 having been deposited under the NRRL Accession Number 50902. Other embodiments include a hybrid strain of Agaricus bisporus having BP-1 as one parent and an OW, SW, HW or experimental BW strain as a second parent. Still other embodiments include a hybrid strain of Agaricus bisporus having strain B12998 as at least one parent. Methods are provided for obtaining offspring including homokaryotic lines from select hybrid strain cultures of Agaricus bisporus, as well as methods and processes for producing hybrid mushroom cultures. A method of mushroom strain development is further provided.
