  • Publication number: 20240077004
Abstract: A phasing system for an internal combustion engine having a concentric camshaft includes an annular stator rotatable by the crankshaft and having inner and outer circumferences, and two groups of arcuate cavities. The first group interrupts the inner circumference. A first phaser having an output member as a hub is mounted within the stator in contact with the inner circumference and supported directly on the camshaft tube as a concentric stator bearing. The first phaser has vanes connected to the output member and extending radially into the first group to divide cavities into opposed working chambers. A second phaser comprises first and second end plates at opposite stator sides and fastened to one another to axially seal the cavities therein and, as second output member of the second phaser, connect to vanes extending axially through the second group of cavities to divide the cavities into opposed working chambers.

  • Publication number: 20220355178
Abstract: A tennis serve toss aid comprising: 1) a ring member to be placed on a finger of the non-racket holding hand of a tennis player, 2) a bowl member that holds the tennis ball, and 3) a connector member that allows the bowl member to be attached to the ring member in a variety of orientations, The tennis serve toss training aid trains the tennis player to control the tennis ball without use of the fingers to release the ball, supinate the palm, lock the wrist and elbow, and use the tossing arm as a simple lever which moves from a down position to an up position. As the arm moves to an up position the ball is released from the bowl member due to inertia. This allows the tennis player to be able to repeatedly toss the tennis ball to substantially the same position in the air where it can be struck consistently with the tennis racket to deliver the serve.

  • Patent number: 10887215
Abstract: ISP-free methods, systems and products may include requesting, by a requester, the information from a source, and then passing, such as pushing or pulling, the information from the requester to a controller comprising a director and an optimizer. Further, the method may include receiving instructions from at least one directory, wherein each of the at least one directory is associated with at least one router in a plurality of routers. Further still, the method may include creating, by the optimizer in communication with the at least one directory, a routing plan for routing the information over at least a portion of the plurality of routers. And, yet further, the method may include directing, based on the creating and by the director in communication with the optimizer, placement of the information on one or more of the plurality of routers. Thereafter, routing may commence without connectivity from an ISP.

  • Patent number: 10519821
Abstract: A valve system for an engine includes two cams each having a follower, a summation lever coupled to the followers, a lash adjuster, a valve actuating rocker pivotably coupled to the summation lever and resting on the lash adjuster, a control spring urging the summation lever to compress the lash adjuster, a stop limiting an expansion of the control spring, a bore, a plunger which moves in the bore, and an abutment surface. The control spring acts on the summation lever via the plunger. A plunger end engages with the summation lever. A point of contact between the plunger and the summation lever is displaced in a direction transverse to a plunger axis during a pivoting movement of the summation lever. A plunger shoulder is arranged a distance from the plunger end to contact the abutment surface to limit a plunger displacement in a direction compressing the lash adjuster.

  • Publication number: 20170262914
Abstract: A method of controlling negotiations between a first party and a second party with respect to an item listed on an electronic-commerce platform having a restricted market is disclosed. Based on a submission of a received offer amount and a received quantity corresponding to the offer amount, a first round of a predetermined number of rounds of the negotiations is initiated. The first round includes displaying a counteroffer entry region comprising a location for receiving a counteroffer amount and a quantity corresponding to the counteroffer amount from the first party. Based on a submission of the received counteroffer amount and the received quantity corresponding to the counteroffer amount, a current approved price region comprising a location for a current approved price and a current approved quantity is updated. Via optional actions in an action region, the second party is allowed to participate in a second round of the negotiations.

  • Patent number: 9495434
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards managing designations of a plurality of files across multiple clusters. Files may be designated as primary files or secondary files. Primary files at one cluster may be asynchronously replicated at another cluster as secondary files. Secondary files may be synchronously validated with remote primary files based on local file access requests. If a write request for a local secondary file is provided, then the local file may be designated as the primary file and the remote file may be designated as the secondary file. Local access may then be provided to the local primary file. If a read request for a local secondary file is provide, then local access may be provided to the local secondary file without changing file designations. In some embodiments, file designations may be preemptively changed based on a file change designation schedule for clusters at different geographic locations.

  • Patent number: 9306718
Abstract: A method for mitigating helicopter rotor blockage of communications comprising fast fourier transforming (FFT) pilot symbols, implementing a time delay of one frame, applying a forgetting factor to an accumulated spectrum, and performing a leaky coherent integration, wherein the leaky coherent integration adds a result of the fast fourier transform of the one current frame of data to the accumulated spectrum. The method also comprises calculating a threshold, wherein the threshold is based on a mean energy of all FFT bins in the accumulated spectrum, masking the FFT bins, wherein masking comprises retaining only FFT bins that exceed the threshold and above a minimum expected rotor blocking frequency, inverse fast fourier transforming the accumulated spectrum, erasing the pilot symbols below the threshold and removing them from the signal, and erasing data symbols that lie in a blockage by setting associated bit-log likelihood ratios to zero.

  • Publication number: 20140067603
Abstract: A method of vetting a wholesaler of an item for participation in an online marketplace is disclosed. A notification that the wholesaler of the item intends to sell the item on the online marketplace is received. The online marketplace is reserved for wholesaling and the notification includes a price at which the wholesaler intends to sell the item. The price at which the wholesaler intends to sell the item is compared with an average price at which an end consumer may purchase the item on an additional online marketplace. The additional online marketplace is not reserved for wholesaling. A listing is received from a wholesaler of the item on the online marketplace based on the comparison of the price at which the wholesaler intends to sell the item being less than the average price at which the end consumer may purchase the item on the additional online marketplace.
