  • Publication number: 20170143304
Abstract: An automated system for selecting patient breast laterality is provided. A position sensor system using force or image sensors is coupled to a scanning bed or seated-type apparatus. Regardless of the size and weight of the patient, the position of patient at the time of scan will not be centered with respect to the center of the scanner. This relative difference in the position will be sensed as a difference in the transducer signal of an image sensor when comparing the right- and left-hand sides of the field of view or will be sensed as a difference in voltage when comparing the right and left-hand side outputs of a circuit using force or pressure sensor.

  • Patent number: 9648210
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an original setting part, an original reading device, an opening/closing member, a locking mechanism, a notifying mechanism, an original detecting part, a user detecting part and a controlling part. The opening/closing member is switchable between an opening posture and a closing posture. The locking mechanism holds the opening/closing member in the closing posture. The notifying mechanism notifies a user that the original is left behind on the original setting part. The controlling part operates the locking mechanism and the notifying mechanism on condition that the original detecting part detects the original and the user detecting part does not detect the user in a state where the original reading device has finished reading the original. The controlling part stops operation of the locking mechanism on condition that authentication of a specific user succeeds in a state where the locking mechanism is operated.

  • Patent number: 9517779
Abstract: A system and method communicate a command message from a lead vehicle in a vehicle consist having remote vehicles and the lead vehicle. The command message includes a directive for controlling operations of the remote vehicles. The command message is received at the remote vehicles and reply messages are communicated in response thereto. The reply messages include statuses of the remote vehicles. Responsive to determining that the lead vehicle does not receive the reply message from one or more of the remote vehicles, the statuses of the one or more remote vehicles from which the reply messages are not received at the lead vehicle are sent and/or combined into an individual or concatenated relayed message. The individual or concatenated relayed messages are communicated to the lead vehicle such that the lead vehicle receives the statuses of the one or more remote vehicles.

  • Patent number: 9415756
Abstract: A brake control system for a distributed power vehicle system includes a brake system and a distributed power control system in a first vehicle, and first and second separate communication links between the brake system and the distributed power control system. In operation, upon the initiation of a penalty brake application, the brake system transmits information about the brake level of the penalty brake application to the distributed power control system, over at least the first communication link. However, if the first communication link fails, the brake system redundantly transmits the information about the level of the penalty brake application to the distributed power control system over the second communication link. The information is transmitted from the distributed power control system in the first vehicle to remote vehicles for carrying out the penalty brake application.
